Jinx here for Complex News.
By the time the Grammys were getting underway, Chance the Rapper already had his first piece
of hardware.
He collected the Grammy for Best Rap Performance, for "No Problem," during the pre-show.
And when it came time to hand out the first award on air, he picked up another—for Best
New Artist.
After he collected the first, Drake—who, in addition to being nominated for Best Rap
Album and Album of the Year, was also nominated for Best Rap Performance—texted Chance his
congratulations from England, where he's on his The Boy Meets World Tour.
Drake wrote: "Congrats boi!
Well deserved.
I am in Manchester having a drink for u broski.
The two awards were a major look for Chance, who beat out the Chainsmokers, Anderson .Paak,
Maren Morris, and Kelsea Ballerini for the second.
