at the end of You're Undead To Me.
When she starting finally putting the clues together,
realizing that her new boyfriend
was different than most boys.
- Enzo?
(gasping)
(bell rings)
- Let's have a moment of sadness for poor Enzo.
Let's rage and scream and throw things at Stefan Salvatore,
who after falling into the worst pit
of violence that he's ever fallen into,
in his 170 some odd years, he actually did the unthinkable,
he murdered someone that we love
and in retaliation, Bonnie struck back.
- And you're gonna be human.
(groaning)
- And now Stefan is human.
So, when we said we were taking things to the end,
for the end of the series, we were not kidding.
Everything that happens now is real,
for Stefan especially.
(heavy breathing)
- No!
- My god, all this time, we wanted to be human,
he wanted this at one point.
But now he's facing his life, an engagement to a vampire,
memories flooding back to him of what he's just been doing
in the name of being a ripper,
the bodies that he's dropped for Kade
and basically, he is in a shame spiral of epic proportions.
- Every time I close my eyes,
I see it play out over and over again in my head
and every time I open them I see Enzo's blood on my hands.
- Just please come home.
- I can't do that.
