Qualcomm says the FTC was influenced by commercial interests, citing the credibility of the commission's
former vice chairman, who oversaw the case and is currently being questioned about his
ties to Samsung, a major Qualcomm customer.
The Korean antitrust agency is currently under investigation by the independent counsel as
part of the ongoing corruption scandal involving President Park Geun-hye and Samsung Electronics.
The FTC fined Qualcomm more than 8-hundred-50 million U.S. dollars in December for monopolistic
practices and ordered it to revise its business model.
