during his time spent in Mexico.
However, his run in WWE came up a bit short, as he did not adapt to WWE’s style of wrestling
very well.
In one instance in a match with Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara ended up breaking his finger
and this lead to him stopping the match on his own, refusing to compete any longer.
Alberto tried to get him to continue on with the match, and it was reported that he was
very angry with Sin Cara afterwards.
Back in 1999, Droz was facing off against DLo Brown on an episode of Smackdown.
Droz, at the time, was wearing a shirt that was far from snug and caused difficulties
when DLo tried to pick him up for his signature running power bomb.
This caused the move to be seriously botches and caused Droz to land directly on his head,
breaking two disks inside his neck.
Luckily, he felt as though this was a mere accident and holds no grudge towards DLo.
Japanese wrestling legend, Misawa, was wrestling a match for the GHC tag team championships,
where he took a belly to back suplex that didn’t seem all that impactful.
However, he would pass out after the maneuver which would prompt staff at ringside to stop
the match and help him get to a hospital.
The official police report suggests that the cause of his death was due to cardiac arrest
caused by an injury to the cervical spinal cord, but Misawa’s family requested that
the police not release the official reason to the public, so the real reason might never
be revealed.
Father of the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, Iron Mike Dibiase was 45 years old and was
set to wrestle a match against Man Mountain Mike.
Many people in attendance thought this might be his very last match and perhaps it should
have been sooner, as Dibiase began to slow down during the bout suffering from a heart
attack.
Harley Race, who was ringside, intervened and tried to assist Dibiase by performing
cpr.
He was then driven in an ambulance to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
One of the most devastating reasons a match was called off was due to an insane bump taken
by a luchadore named Oro.
In 1993, Oro was involved in a tag team match where he decided take a clothesline and fall
back onto his head.
After hitting his skull, Oro was still able to continue but only for a short time before
losing consciousness, which later lead to his death.
Enzo and Cass were going two on two against the Vaudevillians at Payback, and this match
was for a future title shot at the tag team championships against the New Day, who sat
at ring side.
Anyways, Enzo was being thrown into the ropes by Simon Gotch, where Enzo first hit his head
hard on the second rope before falling and hitting the back of his skull on the mat.
You can see him immediately bounce back up and then fall out of the ring.
Medical staff came to Amore’s aid and stopped the match, since he suffered
a concussion.
Have you ever heard of the story of how Daniel Bryan blew up on Triple H backstage?
Back in June of 2013, Daniel Bryan was squaring off against Randy Orton in a no DQ match on
RAW.
During the match, Bryan got what is called a stinger, which caused temporary paralysis
leaving Bryan unable to feel both of his arms.
This lead medical staff to attempt to stop the match, but Bryan continued anyway, until
Randy slammed him on the barricade to get him to stay at ringside.
Daniel Bryan then went backstage to find out that Triple H stopped the match out of concern
for Bryan’s well-being.
