Drake’s latest project, “More Life,” is everywhere.
It just hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, but for Russell Westbrook fans, the album’s
lighting up their timelines.
And not in a good way.
The Oklahoma City Thunder guard enjoyed another MVP-caliber performance on Sunday, putting
up 39 points, 13 assist and 11 rebounds.
It was his league-leading 36th triple double on the season.
While many were quick to praise Westbrook for another dominant stat-stuffing game, the
Houston Rockets’ Twitter account were quicker to point out one little thing: His team lost.
Not only that, but the Rockets have 10 more wins than the Thunder on the season.
Harden, another MVP candidate, didn’t have his best game on Sunday, but the Rockets’
Twitter wanted to point out one thing: Wins matter over all.
Drake knows this, and so does Harden, so the Rockets combined the two perfectly with this
bit of Twitter shade:
An #MVP performance by @JHarden13 today.
Westbrook’s Drake burn goes deep, because it’s been awhile since NBA teams trolled
each other on social media.
Last month, the league actually sent out a memo asking teams to be nicer to each other
on social media.
This happened after the Portland Trail Blazers made fun of a Chandler Parsons airball.
He responded by ripping their record, saying,
@trailblazers good luck in the lottery show this year✊🏻
The NBA was not okay with the player-team Twitter back-and-forth.
Now we’ll just wait and see if the league takes offense to “More Wins.”
