I'm even guilty of this myself.
I feel that the mandela effect community is crying mandela effect on everything they see now.
We have, kind of, cried wolf on some stuff that we
probably should have taken a few minutes and researched.
The thing is, one, there is a community that is excited
about it so they want to put it out there.
I don't think it's any sort of malicious intent
or trying to screw with you or troll you.
I think they really believe that some of these effects are mandela effects.
When I approach something I usually
say "I'm not sure, so I'm going to put this out there,
because I can't trust my memory a hundred percent any more."
Alot of stuff I thought were mandela effects might not be.
But most of them are.
There's a handful of stuff I'm 100% sure on.
And that's enough.
I don't need but one effect.
I just have to be sure on one effect to know something screwing with this reality happened.
I remember, I was on the live show and someone on the panel brought up pet cemetary.
And they were talking about how it's spelled with an S instead of a C like cemetary.
And I had never read the book,
so I'm like "That doesn't make any sense. Why would it be S?"
That's really silly that they would change it to that in this reality.
I just didn't really have much knowledge on the topic.
All I'd ever seen was the movie.
But Kate was telling me, "No, no, it's always been S because, you know what? It's a plot point of the book.
There's a little kid who makes a sign for pet cemetary and mispells it with an S.
So It's always been an S."
But I was quick to jump on saying Oh yeah, you know, that doesn't make any sense. Why is it an S?
And then, I later retracted it. Stop...Look at this. The tail, really?
I later retracted it.
As soon as I figured it out
So I think it's ok to bring stuff up to the mandela effect community
but I think we need to change how we phrase it.
It should be "I'm not a hundred percent sure on this. Is this an effect or not?"
moneybags73, his channel does a good job at this.
He'll put up voting videos
where he'll bring up a topic that's popular right now
and say "do you remember it this way? If you do thumbs up, if you don't thumbs down."
And I think that's a good way to handle it.
Unless you're one hundred percent sure something changed-
don't just jump on the bandwagon and get hits
and try to get attention to your channel.
There's also some channels out there that are clearly just jumping on the bandwagon.
Like little kids making videos about it. Which is cool.
And they can talk about it, but if you really understand
mandela effect, how shaking this is to somone's psyche
and their reality,
you can't just make one or two videos about it.
And that's kind of what you'll see. You'll see someone
say "oh this is trending well on google, I'm going to make a video about mandela effect
All my friends are making it.
I'm going to say my two things.
We'll talk about the Berenstein bears and fruit loops,
and then we'll do another video about the Oscars or whatever song they like."
If you really understand this, it's hard to move to another video.
My channel has hundreds of other topics
and I've had a really hard time taking a day or two off
to just not do a mandela effect story. Every once
in a while, I'll get the itch to just take a break
and not do one, but mostly
it's all mandela effect stuff because
it's the biggest thing thats ever happened.
It's proof that this reality is not real.
If it can just change like this,
I mean, that's huge.
Because it's always been speculation.
And here it is on a silver platter,
served to us, being like "ok, here's some proof
that this stuff's flip flopping around."
That, to me, is probably the biggest thing that's ever happened
in my life, so it's hard for me not to talk about it all the time.
Now, I think as a community we should get a little more responsible.
Again, I have the live chats on Thursday nights.
That's kind of a good place to test stuff out.
You can always jump on the air for a little bit
and say "Hey I think I might have discovered this. What do you guys think?"
Put it out there and see if everybody remembers.
Or make a video about it or a blog
or anything.
So I hope we get a little more responsible about crying wolf.
You'll see that the channels that started this
a while back, alot of those people burned out.
They're not talking about it any more
and their channels just kind of disappeared.
There's no new stuff up.
I think you can burn out on it if all you're doing is looking for new effects.
You know you gotta go a little deeper
and try to go into what does this mean in our life.
How am I going to turn this into something positive?
How are we going to make this empower us?
Then it never get's tiring, it's exciting.
Now there are days where you can burn out and over do it.
I myself do that.
Where I'm just like, ok I need a break.
But after a day or two I'm ready to talk about it again.
And even though this is monumental
and very exciting, you will burn out if you don't take a day or two off.
That being said, come back.
Because there's a community here that
is growing pretty quick and they're pretty cool cats.
They're definately...this is one thing about communities.
There's always going to be different flavors of people.
You're not going to get along with everyone,
so just throw that idea out the window.
We're not all going to sing kumbayah.
But we all have some core beliefs in common.
At least in my community,
I really try to push that
this is a positive thing and
something to empower us.
If you don't believe that, there's probably like
a hundred other mandela effect channels that
will be happy to scare the crap out of you
and say how doomed we are.
So if you want to go that route, by all means.
If you want a positive message, I'd like you to stay here
and be part of the community
So I'm going to try to get better, myself included
about crying wolf on stuff so fast.
It's just, there's so much of it out there
that it's hard not to see something almost every day at this point.
I think it's ok to bring some of those ideas up.
Like I said before, just phrase it different.
Unless you're one hundred percent sure,
you should say, "you know I'm not a hundred percent sure about this, so what' do you guys think?"
That diffuses that whole situation and you don't have to worry
about losing credibility.
This cat.
If this is your first time watching, he jumps up here
Whenever he hears me talking, sometimes I'll be
prepping and reading some stuff to figure out what I'm going to talk about
He'll just run over and jump up
and I think I turn on..oh there he is
I turn on lights and maybe that's his trigger
because he seems to jump up here whenever
he just like knows when I'm going to film
and if I put him down, he's just going to jump right back up
People will be like why do you film with a cat on you
and I don't really have much choice.
He just keeps jumping on me.
But I love him, so he can be part of the team.
People love him in the video.
People are like, "you're that guy with the cat"
That's what I'm being known as now. The guy with the cat.
So thank's for that.
He's more popular than I'll ever be.
The thing about this is, if this is your first time at this channel,
I do alot more stories besides mandela effect
stuff. I've got seven years of back catalog of
different stories on farming and health and some stories just to be funny and have fun.
I also do a couple of live shows
throughout the week. Thursday is kind of a standing appointment
A live Thursday night show about the mandela effect
where I bring on other YouTube hosts and we try to figure this thing out
and discuss whatever topics of the day are about the mandela effect
My Tuesday night show kind of just comes and goes.
It's usually every other Tuesday.
And it is more about whatever I feel like talking about.
It's my chance to take a break, but
inevitably there's always some mandela effect stuff that gets in there.
And then, I have a special show coming up
once a month on Saturdays for international people
I have alot of international viewers
about the mandela effect and they really want to have
their own chat where they can make it
My show is at 8pm at night, eastern standard time
so for some people thats three in the morning
over in another country
So my Saturday shows are in the morning
and if some people are at work and can't make a live show either, it's for you guys
I'll be doing those once a month, that's coming up.
Thanks so much, one last thing
you can see my private and unlisted videos over
at my website, all you have to do is
sign up. All that stuff is free.
