and then there are close calls…
That’s not the only thing that was close
on Saturday at the Shell Houston Open,
how about that battle at the top of the leaderboard
between Sung Kang and Rickie Fowler?!
Fowler looking to become the fourth player
with multiple wins this TOUR season and Kang,
playing for more than just his first PGA TOUR victory…
“If you win you are going to the Masters”
I think he is well aware… and so he came
out guns a blazing, nearly holing
out on the first hole!
You know who did hole out?
Kevin Streelman.
That’s one happy player and one happy little fan.
What a guy!
Jon Rahm got it done from the beach too…
When your friends are watching,
you bring your A-game.
Kang’s flat stick was the story the
first two days in Houston, but Richard
here sank nearly 130 feet of putts and gave
Kang a run for his money.
Kind of…
He had long putts…
From 47 feet, 3 inches to be exact.
He had important putts.
Like this 17-footer
on 14 for a share of the lead.
And golf is hard putts.
A few of them…
that was hard to watch.
Fowler’s bogey,
double bogey finish putts him 3 strokes
back heading into Sunday.
They are expecting some bad weather
in the Houston area on Sunday,
so tee times have been moved up
with the players going off in 3-somes
for a split-tee start beginning at 7:15 am local time.
PGA TOUR Radio will begin at 10am ET,
the telecast will begin as scheduled
on Golf Channel at 1 pm ET and I’ll still see
you Monday for Trending On TOUR.
