bigger names in a long list of companies who recently decided to boycott youtube by pulling
their company ads from appearing on the platform .
All due to Youtube’s inability to properly regulate the content that has your ad play
prior to the video.
Now listen, I understand that Youtube needs to fix a few of the ways that they run things
and I also understand that you have to keep the pristine integrity of your sugar water
company in place.
So to do that you joined other prestigious companies such as Walmart you know, the company
that kills small businesses all in the name of saving a few dollars.
Johnson and Johnson, you know the company that knowingly sold products that allegedly
cause cancer and Starbucks, you know the company that….uhh…. the company that….I really
don’t have anything bad to say about Starbucks because I’m kinda addicted to coffee and
caffeine.
But back to Pepsi
So what if in the process of protecting your brand you hurt numerous creators who spend
hours creating their content by taking hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars out
of Youtube’s pockets which directly takes it out of the pockets of its creators.
Who cares!
Disregard the small fact that traditional television is a dying medium and digital media
is now where most eyes are.
You’re not gonna need to advertise on Youtube in the future.
Nah!
Keep your integrity Pepsi!
And it doesn’t matter that you sell diabetes in a can, What else is everybody going to
drink with their food?
Water?!
Yuck!
Just as long as your company doesn’t advertise it’s early death in a can to people who
watch risqué content on Youtube.
Right?
Right!
Sure numerous creators livelihoods are being effected, people who aren’t breaking any
rules other than using their freedom of speech but who cares. You must keep the integrity
of your company in place.
I understand.
So I’m making this video to show support for Pepsi and their decision to screw everybody
over-
Wait a minute…what’s this?
Oh!
Pepsi released a new commercial this week?
That’s pretty cool!!
It’s on Youtube?
I guess the Youtube boycott only goes as far as spending money on Youtube ads…
I..I guess that makes sense.
why does the ad have so many thumbs down?
Is that Kylie Jenner…or is that Kendall…or Kaitlyn.
I can never tell them apart nowadays.
Either way…small detail.
Everybody is so happy are they in line for the new iPhone or to watch the new avengers
movie or something?
This commercial is depicting a protest?
There’s no way that this can be a protest there’s no police brutality or people yelling
incoherently.
There’s cops but they don’t have their guns out shooting people or using tear gas
or anything.
Plus why would a soda company advertise their product in a commercial depicting a protest,
that makes no sense.
You’re telling me that’s what Pepsi did?
Are you serious?
So let me get this straight pepsi.
You decide to pull your ads from youtube to preserve the integrity of your brand by making
sure it isn’t associated with videos that send the wrong message… and then days later…you
release a video that sends the wrong message.
Is this a joke?
Am I being punk’d or something ?
I guess protests and civil unrest are totally in style right now.
It doesn’t matter that across the world real protest look a little more like this….
You guys, we can all learn something from Pepsi!
If those stupid protesters had a Pepsi with them it would have totally defused the whole
situation!
Duh!
Silly us for not realizing the amazing powers that Pepsi has.
Really?
Somebody tried to do that last week in an attempt to mock this ad and this happened?!
uhh uhh woah woah woah not a good move not a good move thank you don’t do that again.
okay?
Not a smart move thank you I do appreciate it but don’t do that again.
hahaha.
Yeah don’t please folks don’t do that.
For your own safety don’t do that okay.
Uhhh Pepsi, uhh buddy, this isn’t looking too good.
You know the whole making light of a very serious situation in an attempt to sell your
product. You kinda look like a jackass and a tad bit hypocritical.
I’m not the only one that feels this way either.
Your ad caused quite the uproar across the internet.
And on top of all that Pepsi stock took a nose dive with all the negative backlash the
company was receiving.
So after what Pepsi did to the Youtube community in an attempt to protect their brand they
turn around and completely destroy their image themselves.
Is this karma or ignorance?
Or a bit of both?
Im not quite sure.
You know what?
I have an idea!
Let’s play a little game to lighten the tone of things before I have to end the video.
Let’s play hangman.
That’s a good classic game that everybody knows how to play.
I’ll even help you guys out and give you guys a few letters to make it way easier to
guess the answer!
does anybody have any guesses? does anybody have any guesses to what the
remaining letters in this game of hangman are?
Anybody?
On a more serious note.
C’mon Pepsi,get your shit together.
