We're good? Thank you.
Hey, everybody!
Thanks for checking out DNews today. I'm Trace. Now listen up!
Sound is extremely powerful.
I need you to listen up here.
Do not give anyone the power to make you feel worthless. Nobody.
So, I'm going to have to be like in class. Listen up class, listen up.
Canada's a leader in wealth, technology, and education,
but when it comes to health, we could be doing a lot better,
and I know what you're thinking, I'm busy
and who is this Scott McGillivray guy anyway?
But hear me out on this one.
The rewards from exercise and healthy eating are long-term,
so it can be kind of funny.
And to tell all of you that...
I hear you.
I mean, sometimes it's as simple as that,
that I am listening and paying attention,
partly because when I listen to Alex
or I listen to Carolyn
or I listen to, you know, any of the folks that I met with,
I see myself in them.
Because I remember my first minimum wage job,
at Baskin Robbins, by the way,
I had to wear a cap and an apron.
And how like a little raise would’ve really helped.
I don’t understand the stigma for hearing aids.
I… I think that if you are… if you think you're hard of hearing,
I will tell you please go get checked
because hearing aids changed my life,
they saved my marriage.
Honestly, I couldn't believe...
Each new version I've gotten
I couldn't believe what I wasn't hearing before.
And from the classroom to the home,
RIT students are developing a device
that would alert deaf and hard of hearing individuals of household sounds.
Equipped with microphones,
the device would connect to an app warning them of sounds
like a boiling teapot, a triggered smoke alarm,
or a crying child.
I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tree tops glisten
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
