With patch 7.2 we have Maiev on the Broken shore who informs us that we need to rally
a new champion to bolster our ranks.
The Warlocks return to the Dread Scar Rift where Shinfel tells them that Jubeka has been
more withdrawn than usual.
Her mind probably still lingers on Kanrethad, the council’s one-time leader who she was
forced to banish after he took in too much fel magic during the warlock green fire questline.
That took place during mists of pandaria and she has been commited to keeping him banished,
until the Burning Legion took her as their prisoner.
His fate is now unknown, and it’s clearly troubling our friend.
The last thing she said, was that she felt his presence in Azsuna so that’s where we
travel and we find Jubeka next to an occultist prisoner from the cult of the green flame.
The lure of Kanrethad is strong.
Even when not in this world, there are those who wish to be near him at any cost, hoping
to share in his power.
A group of these fanatics are here in Faronaar, working tirelessly to bring Kanrethad back.
The Cult is harnessing fel energy to fuel their efforts and within their compound they
are powering fel crystals that can hold a great amount of fel magic.
Without the proper power to perform their ritual, the occultists will have a tough time
succeed in their task so we steal their crystals, but we don’t destroy them since something
so powerful can always be used.
As we go about doing that, we also kill as many of the cult members as we can with Corine
the Devout waiting at the end of the compound.
Corine the Devout: “You’re too late!
The ritual is almost complete.
Soon, Kanrethad will be among us once again!”
“Enough of these games!
You will not interfere with our plans.
We will not be stopped!”
Kanrethad: “Jubeka, are you there?
Do not let them take me!
I could not endure such a fate!”
Can it be true?
Does some sliver of her friend still remain within that wretched demon?
Soon his banishment will fade, and he will return to our world.
We must keep him, and his power, out of the Legion’s hands at any cost.
If her old friend is still in there somewhere, perhaps we can even bring him back.
The crystals we recovered feed on fel energy and we can use the ravenous crystals to siphon
away the magic that consumed Kanrethad.
But first, their power must be depleted so we harness the power of the crystals and use
their energy to kill demons.
Jubeka will keep the depleted crystals safe until they’re needed and back at base, we
find out that our forces have received information on Kanrethad’s whereabouts.
It would seem that his twisted followers have begun their ritual on the Broken Shore.
The Burning Legion cannot be allowed to use Kanrethad as their weapon.
Our acolytes summon us to the broken shore where we place the depleted crystals in a
circle around Kanrethad.
If placed correctly, the crystals should link together and begin to siphon the fel energy.
Our actions don’t go unnoticed and the occultists are not too happy with us, but nothing can
stand in our way.
“You will not disrupt this ritual!”
Dark Summoner Rezara is forced to make an appearance in an attempt to stop us, but not
even the shivara is able to bring us down.
“Netherlord, you’ve done it!
Kanrethad has returned to us.”
“Is he alive?”
Jubeka has lived with a heavy heart ever since the day she fulfilled her promise to banish
Kanrethad.
She never thought to see the day he would be returned to us, but the warlock who brought
the council together in pursuit of greater power, the one who took that goal a little
bit too far, has now come back.
The crystals that hold his fel magic have to be taken care of.
If any should break, the energy inside would find its way back to our friend.
It’s decided that each member of the council will watch over a crystal to make sure that
doesn’t happen.
Kanrethad remembers fighting us at the Black Temple, how could he forget such power?
It seems fitting that the council chose us as its leader in his absence.
Rest assured.
He has no desire to challenge their decision, he owes us his life so instead he would serve
us and the council.
There is much we can learn from each other.
Another powerful ally recruited to our cause and we have bolstered our strength against
the Legion once more.
That is how warlocks obtain their new champions which means we’ve reached the end of the
video.
