The True Story of the Chaster Bunny

(relaxed music)
- So it was back in like 2015.
We were doing an Easter episode.
And we needed an Easter bunny, so we got Chase
and we dressed him up as an Easter bunny.
- [Link] Here comes the Chaster bunny.
- (laughs) The Chaster bunny.
- Okay, Chase.
Come on in here and--
- Call him the Easter bunny.
- Easter bunny.
- Don't call him Chase.
- Thanks so much for coming, Mr. Easter Bunny.
- No problem. (laughs)
(crew laughs)
- Lay yourself an egg.
- Lay your egg.
- Ah, the Chaster bunny.
Well, we dress Chase up in so many different things.
But for some reason, that's the one that stuck,.
- I mean everybody loved him.
He came out in his little vest.
He was popping out eggs, adorable.
He was cute.
- So of course, we had to bring him back the next year.
- Chaster bunny, where are you?
Oh.
- He hops right in on command.
- Welcome back, Chaster bunny.
It's been a year.
- Thanks.
How you doing?
- So now, you know, Easter time is rolling around again.
You got that special something in the air.
- Let's bring in the Chaster bunny.
He's been holding these all year. (laughs)
- Welcome, Chaster bunny.
Yeah, you're back.
- Let it loose, Chase.
- He's out of the cage.
- I actually don't even celebrate Easter
but I do celebrate the Chaster bunny.
(upbeat music)
- There's so many beautiful dyed eggs around the office.
It's really nice.
- Yeah, the Chaster bunny is great.
Who doesn't love the Chaster bunny?
- So many
eggs.
It's great.
- I mean I like Easter as much as the next guy,
but this is my job.
There's a time and a place for everything.
It's ridiculous.
It's becoming too much.
- So you know, I try my best to just ignore him
and you know, I just go about my day.
(sighs) Okay, you know what?
Yeah, it's getting a little out of hand.
I'm just getting sick of it.
- Everyone's getting really frustrated with Chase,
but hear me out.
I don't think it's him.
- Yes, I mean there were some things that were
a little bit harder to explain,
but I don't think it's magic.
I honestly hope it's not magic.
I really don't like magic.
- I mean it's just Chase in a bunny costume, right?
Right?
- Look, weird stuff happens here all the time.
We see it everyday.
This one, there's something different about this one.
This one feels a little magical.
- Maybe it's Chase.
Maybe it's somebody else just screwing around.
Maybe it's not.
Maybe it' more than that.
- What even is real?
I don't know.
Do you know?
I don't know.
Ancient aliens, are they real?
The moon, is that real?
Who knows.
I've never been there.
- If the Chaster bunny is real, that changes everything.
This is incredible.
- [Man] It's amazing how even the smallest things
can really brighten your day.
- (sighs) I mean there's something special
about the Chaster bunny.
He just kinda reminds us that there's more to life
than just work, the daily grind.
There's still beauty in the world.
- Even if it is only once a year,
he just helps us remember how to smile.
He helps us remember how to feel,
and he reminds us that this really is
a mythical world that we're living in,
and that feels good.
I'm sorry.
(dramatic music)
- But that costume has not been washed ever.
That thing is dirty, man.
