This fleet it's characteristic because of the bright reds and dark shells with blue stripes. It's a mix of colors that stand out in the field of battle and it's quite easy to paint.
We start with the boty and leave the shell for last.
For this we shall give a layer base with Khorne Red to all the body, with soft strokes and diluted paint, givien various layers if necessary.
Now we unify the layer and give some deep to the body, the tyranids have a lot of nooks and it will help giving a tint layer to stand the out and add more impresion to the volume.
For this we're using Carroburg Crimson and apply it generously to all the body.
Once the tint it's dried, we shall proceed to give volume and light to stand out all the features of the body.
For this we start mixing a little of Khonr Red with Mephiston Red. The estimated proportion it's about 20% Khorne Red and 80% of Mephistone Red.
The idea it's to get up the intensity of the Red until we create the profile near to orange.
Now we mix Mephistone Red with Evil Sunz Scarlet to get the reds up. The brushstrokes have to be soft and with a few diluted paint. We shall try to create a contrast of the dark zone to the lighter one, in this way we create a volume effect and form.
To finish it we add Fire Dragon Bright to the mix of Mephistone Red and Evil Sunz Scarlet and we shall give the final lights with this.
To profile the edges we shall do it with Fire Dragon Bright.
With the body finished, we now have to do the shell. For this we shall paint all the plates with Abaddon Black. Then once dried this layer base, we shall give a wash with Drakenhof Nightshade.
We start painting the lines of the shell, this are easy to pain. With a fine point brush, we trace fine lines in the edges of the shell. This have to be a deepness of one centimeter more or less to the center. This marks will be created in three phases.
For the first one, it's going to be the more long brushstroke, we use Stegadon Scale Green.
Then we create the next brushstroke of the line, this one will be over the first line that we paint before and we shall cover only the half of it, so it wil stand out the last one and create the effect. For this one we use Sotek Green.
And finally we shall give the more bright line, this one will be traced covering the half of the last line and we shall use Temple Guard Blue.
To give more variety to the color and a more tyranid aspect, some zones will be painted with an intense bright green. For this we use a layer base of Cabilan Green.
And to give some intensity in this green zones, like the eyes. We give a little of Green Yellow of Vallejo.
And with this fews and easy steps we shall have this Tyranid Warrios ready to start being the nightmare of some inocent guy
