Hello everybody my name is Giaco35, today i am going to show you a product that could interest you
and this being the Christmas season, it could be a product to make as a gift for you or somebody else
that is content producer.
This object being a webcam that has been provided to me by the seller : ELP or Ailipu technology that i will talk about in a sec
for 20$ instead of the original retail price being 70$
BUT this not being a sponsored video the opinion offered in this video is 100% mine! Hope i see you at the end of this video!
It’s important for me to first talk about the quality of the service provided by the seller,
the communication was really easy to establish,
the seller’s answers was fast even with the jet lag.
For the buying experience the package was shipped really quickly or the next morning after ordering at 7H20.
The delay before reception was of 7 days (Sunday not included) and the product was well protected.
I give a mark of 5 out of 5 for the service quality!
Let’s now go into the main part, the box content!
You will find inside of the package a bag of four screws and four screw anchor for certain fixation conditions
a 3 meter long USB detachable cable
don’t worry about cable length issues!
All of this to open, dressed up in white,
the object of all desires
*the object*
The webcam weights 175 grams equipped with his stock lens,
an impressing weight for a webcam that is justified by the build quality.
Here everything is made out of solid metal which inspire a big confidence in the object.
This camera measuring 50x45x47 millimeters you will not experience any issue when travelling,
the webcam in one pocket, his cable and a small tripod in the other, believe me!
Talking of the cable, it uses an XC10 aviation locking plug which is incredibly solid,
don’t worry about damaging the plug if the camera falls,
port leading to a standard USB 2.0 connector.
The camera can actually be found for 70$ on Aliexpress without promotion.
which makes it a big concurrent for the Logitech C920
priced 9€ above.
Let’s now go to my favorite part: the technical specifications!
The webcam uses an OV2710 sensor made by Omnivison, sensor used in a lot of 1080p webcams,
this sensor measuring ½.7 of an inch that would allow you to
achieve a quite shallow depth of field if you use a wide aperture lens,
a really good point so!
The sensor offers resolutions going from 640 by 480 at 120 fps to 1920 by 1080 at 30
like 1280 by 720 at 60 fps
you can thus achieve slow motions of a reasonable quality with this little webcam, cool isn’t it?
For what is about the sound quality the webcam not having any integrated microphone it’s going to be hard to do some tests
a small inconvenient the microphones integrated to webcams generally sounding bad,
so don’t forget your large diaphragm when you go travelling!
Finally you could have noticed the lack of any way of fixing the camera to a monitor,
that's because this webcam uses a ¼ of an inch screw so you should necessarily use a tripod to hold it,
bad point for some good point for other
I personally recommend to use a gopro fixation accessory kit who whould allow you to stick it on your monitors, tables, walls, etcaetera…
Once the webcam connected to the computer you would probably notice the variety of settings offered in OBS, XSplit or Skype…
You would by consequence finely tweak the camera to correspond to your capture environment,
you should however let make your white balance by yourself to achieve the best color rendering possible.
Now that you know nearly everything about this little camera let’s now go into the most waited part, the tests!
I’m gonna now shut up and let you admire the various tests did with this webcam!
Depth of field test
Zoom, focus and aperture tests
Pull focus and shallow depth of field test
Framerate test when increasing exposure
Here i am again for this 4th and last test in a normal face cam condition to allow you to see
how this webcam performs in her main usage.
I think that after the last 3 tests you noticed the performance of this webcam due to the 2 lens advantages combined to the sensor :
Being able to zoom without quality loss being optical and to achieve a quite shallow depth of field which is nice.
I am actually using the webcam in the widest angle possible which is 2.8mm.
By the way I am not precisely using it in 2.8mm because if I do you’re gonna notice the vignetting and the unability to focus well
but if I zoom a little bit you can see that this is REALLY wide angle for once again a webcam,
sadly you can see a bit of distortion.
I personally use this webcam when livestreaming in a closer angle,
let me just focus well,
and this give a quite intimate and pleasuring framing.
And since this webcam have a quite big sensor you can see a little bit of bokeh which is quite pleasurable.
I personally found that the webcam performed remarquably well when testing sharpness, resolution and color rendering, etc...
this is really a good webcam in my point of view and I really recommend it if you want to use it as a face cam
or as an astronomical camera to put in front of a microscope or a telescope
ans you should notice that once again, having this kind of lens and lens mount is really useful
On that I hope you enjoyed watching the video as much as I enjoyed filming it and editing it, hope I see you soon, bye it was Giaco!
