As promised, I am here with a video requested by my friends Jolene, Roshan and Zaheen Siddiqui
who said, “I heard a theory called D+D=T, Can you explain this theory to me?”
As you can guess by now, this is not one of my crazy theories.
I saw this theory on reddit.
While I don’t completely agree with this theory, I did like some parts of it.
I’ll post the link to the original theory in the descriptions below.
Before we begin, I would like to give a shoutout to Ralene Hambicki, who said, “I think Rhaego
is still alive.
I think Mirri Maz Dur knew all about the Azhor A’hai prophecy and the wars to come.”
“Mirri is playing on Dany’s words.
There was no body, no witnesses, no proof of his death.
Just the words of a liar, Mirri.
Dany didn’t even put what remains were supposedly left of him in Khal Drogo’s funeral Pyre.
ALL of Drogo’s most prized possessions were put there.
His son was the most prized possession.
The Dothraki believe that their bodies must be burned for the afterlife.
Dany would have collected whatever there was left and placed it with Drogo.
She has had dreams and visions of him full grown.”
I have to agree with Ralene.
She does have a point.
Rhaego was supposed to be the Stallion who mounts the world.
He was supposed to unite all the khalasaars.
It was prophesized by the crones, and he died just like that?
I do believe that prophecies come true in one form or another.
And we didn’t see Rhaego’s body too.
Judging from what Ser Jorah said to Dany, he didn’t see it either.
When Mirri was a young girl, she has travelled to Asshai to learn the arts of Shadowbinders.
A shadowbinder is a practitioner of magic who binds shadows to their will.
Melissandra is a shadowbinder too.
We have seen her magic many times both on the show and in the books.
When Ser Jorah carries Dany in the tent, he sees Mirri Dancing alone with the shadows.
So, Mirri definitely has the power to replace Rhaego and put someone else in his place.
I’ll show you a clip from the show and then I’ll read a few lines from the books where
Dany asked about Rhaego, and this is what Ser Jorah and Mirri said.
Dany has asked, “Tell me how my child died.”
“He never lived, my princess.
The Women say..” he faltered.
“Tell me.
Tell me what the women say.”
“They say the child was.....”
“Monstrous.”
Mirri finished for him.
“Twisted.
I drew him forth myself.
He was scaled like a lizard, blind, with the stub of a tail and small leather wings like
the wings of a bat.
When I touched him, the flesh sloughed off the bone, and inside, he was full of greveworms
and the stink of corruption.
He had been dead for years.”
Mirri says that he had been dead for years, but Dany says that her son was alive and strong
when Ser Jorah carried her into the tent.
She could feel him kicking, fighting to be born.
The only explanation of this is magic.
Mirri ex-changed Rhaego with a long dead child.
And Ser Jorah said the “Women” say, plural, which means there were more dothraki women
who saw this happen.
So, Mirri was not completely lying about it.
You must be thinking, if the child that Mirri brought forward was not Dany’s, where did
the real Rhaego go?
That’s where the D+D=T theory comes in.
Do you remember another child who was believed to be monstrous when he was born and was believed
to have a tail?
Another person who was called “A twisted little monster” or “the twisted little
monkey demon?”
Yes, it’s Tyrion.
This theory says that Tyrion is the son of Dany and Drogo.
According to the books, Tyrion has a mixture of pale blond and black hair, and he has one
green and one black eye.
Who else has black eyes and black hair?
Drogo.
Now, you must be thinking “How is it possible?
Tyrion is much older than Rhaego would have been if he was alive.”
Remember when Dany asks Mirri, “When will he be as he was?”
And Mirri says, “When the sun rises in the west and sets in east.
When the seas go dry and the mountains blow in the wind like leaves.
When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child.
Then he will return and not before.”
Some of this has already happened.
“When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.”
It can be taken in a many different ways.
In the books, Sun’s son, i.e.
Doran Martells, who was born in the west dies when he goes east to meet Dany in Meereen.
It can also be taken as a reversal of time.
The Mountains blow in the wind like leaves.
It could either mean the death of the Mountain, and his soul flying like a leaf and then going
back to his body.
Or it could mean how Dany burned all the Khals beneath the mother of Mountain in Vaes Dothraek.
If you see something through the flames or smoke, it feels like it’s moving or flying.
“When your womb quickens again and you bear a living child.”
Well this hasn’t happened yet since Dany believes that she cannot have any children.
But she has only been with Daario after Drogo’s death.
Who knows, she might find another bachelor in Westeros and she might conceive another
child?
You’ve probably already guessed who I am talking about.
Anyways, only after that, her husband will return to her.
But like Ralene said earlier, what if Mirri is playing on her words?
Dany asked about a “HE” and Mirri could be talking to her about Rhaego instead.
In the books, Quaithe has told Dany “To go north, you must go south.
To reach the West, you must go east.
To go forward, you must go back.”
Which means, she has to look in the past.
So, according to this theory, Mirri went back in time, and put Rhaego in Joanna’s womb.
But life must pay for life.
If Rhaego lives through Joanna, then whose life paid for Drogo’s life?
It could be Joanna’s baby, who Mirri exchanged with Rhaego.
She said he has been dead for years.
And since we were talking about “Monkeys” and “Tails” earlier, there’s another
thing I want to discuss with you.
Do you remember the promotional photos that HBO released sometime ago?
In one of these photos, Gilly is reading a page from the world of Ice and Fire.”
This passage is about the Long Night, and it mentions that according to a legend in
YiTi, this disaster was averted ONLY by the deeds of a woman with a “Monkey’s Tail.”
May be this is just a superstitious tail, or maybe it’s a foreshadowing that a person
who was believed to “have a monkey’s tail” will help avert this disaster again.
So, may be Tyrion is the Stallion who mounts the world, or may be Dany is the Stallion
herself since she has united the Khalasaars and will help end the Long Night.
What do you think?
Anyways, it’s time for the comment shoutout.
Today’s comment shoutout goes to Stacey Smyth, who said “If Bran is upset enough
over the loss of Hodor, he may be more likely to go back to the moment where the Night King
was created by the COTF and either prevent it or remove the dragonglass.
This is Why I think Bran will go to the Isle of faces and save the day by doing that.”
I like this theory a lot.
I do think that Bran MIGHT try to go to the Isle of faces.
We know the COTF in the North are gone, but there is still a chance that the green men
who were entrusted to protect the Isle of Faces, which if you’ve watched my Harrenhal’s
curse theory, is exactly what they did.
So, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are still some green men alive there.
They can definitely help Bran.
So, what do you think of these theories, don’t forget to tell us in the comments.
