You've been following us with the 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
We're going to wrap up the detail, we've already taken care of the exterior and now we're moving
to the interior.
As you can see it has plenty of vinyl, metal and carpet surfaces.
The vinyl has staining from body oils and years of grease accumulating on it so we're
going to clean it and protect it but first off we're going to vacuum it.
So lets get started!
I've just finished vacuuming this Thunderbird and it has taken care of all the loose dirt
and debris that was sitting on the carpets, floor mats as well as the seats.
Now moving on to the dust that is sitting on top of the dashboard, visors and steering
wheel.
I'm going to use Nonsense which is an all purpose cleaner that you can use to clean
rubber, vinyl, plastic and carpets without being so aggressive that it would discolor.
To control the over spray I'll spray on to the towel as well as the dash and work my
way around the vehicle picking up all the dust and debris because although it looks
nice and clean it is actually really dirty.
So this is going to take care of any of the stubborn staining on anything that can potential
deteriorate the material.
What we're going to do is after it is clean and dry we're going to dress it.
We'll apply V.R.P. which is a water based dressing that penetrates the surface and give
it a natural cool look but more importantly it is going to protect the surface from UV
rays that are going to be beating down on this while it is out being enjoyed.
So I'll finish this up and then we can move on to our next step in the detailing process.
In case you are wondering this is our Goat Boar's Hair Brush, it has a soft bristle that
helps agitate any kind of foaming cleanser.
If you are doing any small crevices on say leather or vinyl, it makes it a lot easier
than using a towel to scrub so by using a brush to get in between these small areas
it is saving us time and effort.
You can see inside on this seal, this is a high traffic area that your shoe stains from
getting in and out.
Using the Nonsense we'll work it back and forth to clean it up and make it look right.
We're moving right along with the interior detail of this Thunderbird.
Lets jump on the seats, this is vinyl that has years of grease and body oils that have
embedded the material and it has this brownish color.
Using Nonsense and spraying it directly on the surface in combination with our Premium
Select Detailing Brush, I'll spray into the brush for added cleaning power.
I'll scrub to activate the foaming action which I had said earlier will penetrate the
surface to lift deep set in stains.
After cleaning all of the vinyl surfaces like I had mentioned I am going to protect them
using V.R.P.
This is a water based dressing that will be dry to the touch but more importantly it is
giving that cool look without causing a glare.
It bonds to the surface to repel UV rays and staining.
Shake up the bottle and I'll apply a few drops to the pad this way we can thoroughly work
it into the surface with a controlled amount.
Starting up here on the dash by blotching it out and then work it into the surface in
a uniform coat.
So if you have any excess leftover be sure to take a clean microfiber towel and buff
it off this way no dust collects on it.
A common question we get is do these dressings crack dashes or tires, this is a natural water
based dressing that penetrates the surfaces to rejuvenate it without cracking.
Alrighty guys we've made it to the end of the detail on this Thunderbird.
Starting off with a vacuum we removed all the dirt and filth that covered the seats,
carpets and everything else.
Then using Nonsense it penetrated the surface of the vinyl to get off the deep set in grime.
We protected it with a coat of V.R.P. which is a water based dressing that is going to
give it a medium shine but most importantly it is protecting it from UV rays and harsh elements.
