Today from guys from Auxbeam.com I got this awesome lighting bar to review.
This is a new Cross-2 Series RGB LED Light Bar, and this is a very badass lighting bar.
But before we start I must warn you.
I will do this review in Russian with English subtitles
I'm really sorry about this, but I don't want to torment you with my pronunciation and mistakes that I will definitely make.
So
If you find any mistakes in the subtitles, please, tell me and I'll fix it.
So, folks. Let's start!
***ALL REFERENCES DESCRIPTION***
Okay, so let's open up the box and see what we got there!
Certainly, I've already opened it, more than once actually.
I've already tried it out, but just for you I'll pretend that all of this is for the first time.
So
First, a box with mounts
Remote control, so you can control it right from the car.
Light bunchers to make it more saturated and focused in a certain direction.
The bar itself. Really heavy, badass-looking from black aluminum
Oh, here's another set of mounts.
Also we have...
The magic itself. All of the magic is done by this little thing.
This is the remote control unit, which allows us to change the light, saturation just by pressing the buttons of the remote control right from your car
It also works with cell-phones
And, well, all the wires
So, the wires have a fuse; here it is, very tightly packed, water-resistant.
And this is a relay.
It will prevent any fuse blows.
Let's take a deeper look at everything.
So, let's take a look at the contents of the boxes
Let's start with the largest one
There are mounts in this box, which go with the bar.
I won't need this anymore
So, these are metal mounts, all shiny in the sun
I don't really like it, because it'll look a bit weird
A black bar with shiny metal mounts... I don't know
The mounts go with hardware accessories.
A bunch of small bolts, a hex key - pretty much everything you need to install the bar.
These are some weird bolts, well, at least I've never seen these before
If you take a closer look, they have a small dimple
This might me hard to get the hex key in
But this time it's not a problem, because you have a special hex key with a small dimple as well, which fits perfectly
I'm not quite sure what this is for, maybe just a way to keep the share of the market
Sold the bolts, sold the hex keys - profit
Anyway, it's weird, but looks pretty solid
Or maybe all bolts in the US are like these?
Let's see what we find in the second box with mounts
I like this set of mounts a lot more
You know why? Because it's black. Black, matted, looks really cool, you just want to touch it. And the main thing is that it's the same color as the bar
So, two mounts
Rubber paddings for safe and more durable installation onto your roof, bumper or whatever else
Another set of hardware accessories
Nothing we haven't seen before, weird bolts and weird hex keys, just like in the previous set
What I like is that guys from Auxbeam.com lashed out for these basic mounts
They sent me two of these
This one, certainly, would be better in black, but the second one is just awesome, extruded aluminum - respect!
This thing also looks a little like Darth Vader's toilet, don't you think?
Big, black, classy-looking and with a hole
I'd get one of these in my house if I could
Let's proceed further
So, the wires. What do we have here?
Let me untangle this first.
I'll put this right here for now.
Let's start with the main wire.
Here we have a relay
It makes a funny clicking sound when you mix up the polarity
The wires themselves with the rings for the accumulator, red for positive, black for negative
Makes sense
Also we have
A fuse, which will burn in case something goes wrong, but everything else will be fine
Cool-looking green thing with an airleak-proof seal
The wire itself is rather long
This is the button, which will go into the car, it will allow us to turn it on and off from inside. A real manly button, I have to apply some force
And the wires for the lamp and the remote comtrol
Now the remote control
So this is what makes it all happen, it's a remote control unit
This allows us to control our lighting bar with a remote control: switch it on and off, change colors, intensity, brightness, saturation with this little thing
Change colors, intensity, brightness, turn it on and off, turn on the white light, add blue, add green, well pretty much anything you want you can do with this remote control. But we don't really need it
You can scan this QR-code with your cell-phone, download an application for your phone and do all that right from your device
Awesome, right?
But we'll talk about this a bit later
I'll show you everything when we'll have installed the bar
Let's go on to the bar itself, which is what we're actually doing this for
So finally, this is what we're doing all this for
This is a 42-inch, 240 W, light heat 6000 K degrees 3 color LED panel from auxbeam.com
6000 K degrees is practically daylight, which will allow you to slash the darkness with this awesome "light sabre"
This panel takes a lot from iPhone 7
It has the same awesome black color, very nice on the touch
It has the same safety degree - IP67
6 means that it's 100% dust proof, and 7 means that you can put in water up to 1 meter deep
And it will be just fine for a little while, around two minutes.
But if this bar is 1 meter under the water, your car is probably already down below, and this will be the least of your problems
One of the special features of this bar is that besides build-in white lights it has criss-crossed built in RGB diodes
which allow you to mix colors, getting any result you want
Certainly
RGB-diodes aren't as bright as the white ones, but actually we don't even need that kind of brightness
I don't really know what else to tell you. I'm sure you can see how cool it is, so I suggest to go and finally install it
So, at first I wanted to install it onto the bumper, but I forgot to take my drill
I won't drill anything today, so I'll install it right here
It'll look kind of like this
And I'll stabilize everything with my favorite thing - duct tape. God bless the person who invented duct tape
Just as it's supposed to be
Oh yeah, since we've changed our plan a little, we'll just tape the wires here and there, and that's pretty much it
Let's go!
So, one of the coolest things is that it can be controlled with your cell-phone
To start you need to make just two simple steps
First
Open the application for scanning QR-codes
Scan the QR-code
Go to the page of the application - you'll be redirected to iTunes
And, well, download the application. I've already downloaded it, so I'll just open it
Don't forget to turn on bluetooth, open the application
It'll try to connect to the bar automatically
If the attempt is unsuccessful, open "Devices"
Press the search-button
And connect
So, the connection is stable
Now we can control our lighting bar from our cell-phone
Off
Turned it on
You pick one of the options
Now we can choose some pre-installed settings, this for example, a stroboscope
Let's turn it to red
Also there are a bunch of manual settings at the bottom, like brightness
frequency, look at it blinking
You can also create custom-sets. This is what I've made
I really like it
Or you can just turn on the white light
Extremely bright
Stroboscope
Play with brightness
The awesomest thing is that this app will allow you to be the king of any party, just press this button and open your music-player
choose any song, i'll pick this one
And look what happens
Now you can rock at any party
We can change the color, let's make it, say, blue
The light will follow the beat of the song
Now you're your own party
It alse has an outside noise reaction mode
For example, I'll turn it on, and see what happens! What's it doing?
Your lighting bar connects to the microphone of your cell-phone, reacting to any noise it picks up
Kind of like right now. I'm talking, and you see what happens
In the app I can change color
Sensitivity. Has anything changed? Yeah, it's a little less sensitive
Well, that's about it. Let's wait until it gets dark and go for a ride in the woods, so we can check out how awesome it actually looks in the dark
Well, it's finally dark, but we don't have to be afraid of the dark anymore. We have the "light sabre", lighting our way
Let's go for a ride
This is what we see - complete darkness. I'll turn the low lights on
A bit better. What about the high lights?
Nothing's changed. Our high lights suck. Now we'll turn this crap off
Let's try our new baby out
Awesome
We can actually see about a hundred meters ahead
So, this is how it works
Once again
Low lights
A little yellow spot of light
A blinding wave of white
I love this thing
Let's take a walk and see how it looks from a distance
I'll go a little further, right now the low lights are on
This is what it looks like with low lights on
Now let's turn our lighting bar on. Come on
This is what it looks like with our lamp on
It's like daylight. Now let's turn it back off
Low lights. And the bar again
It's like not even dark here, you can see the whole field. I should probable take some sun cream
This is what it looks like from here
Just like the second sun
I'll never get tired of this thing
So, you've seen it yourselves
I probably won't even get to the end of this light-spot
It shoots way over a hundred meters
Let me get back into the car, it's really cold out here
So, this is it, folks. I really like this lighting bar
It's easy to use, easy to install, very high quality
Weight, the way it looks... I hope you liked it too, just like this review
If you did, like this video, I tried really hard for you
Best wishes to you and good night!
