seconds to tell you guys about our new sponsor Haste that is helping to support our improved
production.
Haste is a service invented by gamers, for gamers, to help minimize lag, jitter, and
packet loss by using its private fiber optic links, custom infrastructure, automatic route
selection, and plenty of other big words that really just mean you'll get the fastest connection
to the League of Legends servers possible.
It's in Free beta so I'm not trying to sell you anything, they just need feedback to help
improve their service, so you guys can give it a shot and see if it works for you!
And just to be transparent with you guys, 100% of the revenue from this sponsorship
is going to be spent on our production to help us make the best videos we can, so big
thanks to Haste for supporting our channel.
Anyway, let's get started!
Throughout my time playing League of Legends, there are very few things that feel worse
than your favorite, number 1 champion getting hit with a nerf.
It’s happened to almost all of us, I mean we started playing that champion because they
were good in the first place.
And then we just fell in love with their gameplay, only to lose track of how broken they really
were.
And when that nerf inevitably occurred, you feel lost, should I still play that champion?
Do I need to find a new main?
Can I still enjoy them as much as I did before?
Well regardless of what you may or may not have decided to do in the past, the question
still remains, is it a good idea to play champions that are going to get nerfed?
These days, riot is extremely active on both the PBE and the forums, and if you’re checking
Riot Meddler’s posts as well as Surrender at 20 for the PBE changes, you can often see
nerfs coming sometimes as early as a month before they actually get published to the
live game.
It’s easier than it ever has been to know if a champion is going to get nerfed in the
future.
And when you know for sure that a champion is going to be nerfed, it results in a few
things.
Most importantly, they are going to be weaker overall, and as such, less fun to play after
the nerf lands.
As well, it also gives you a lot less time to learn the mechanics and become adequate
with the champion until the inevitable nerf arrives, that is if you haven’t already
been playing the champion.
However, there are also some unexpected upsides to a champion when you know they are getting
nerfed.
When riot announces in some way shape or form that a champion will receive a nerf, it’s
pretty much as if they are announcing that they are considered to be Overpowered.
Otherwise they wouldn’t be getting nerfed in the first place.
So, until the nerf lands, you could potentially take advantage of that Overpowered champion.
The biggest question here revolves mostly around how big the nerf really is.
Some nerfs are minor tweaks, while others not so much, so the important thing to take
a look at, is will they still be someone you would want to play after the nerfs lands.
Depending on if you are playing a champion because they are good, or perhaps playing
them because they are fun, this question can be difficult to answer.
These days especially in ranked play, there’s no denying that the power level of a champion
is a massive reason for why anyone might want to play them.
Good champions not only help you win more games, but they’re also just more fun to
play, because winning is fun.
Regardless of how big the nerf is, they will be a worse champion afterwards, at which time
other champions may be a better option for you.
Overall, I have to say it really just comes down to the type of player you are, and your
relationship with the champion in question.
If you’re a total one trick pony who has no love for any champion except your number
one favorite, it’s probably better for you to continue playing that favorite.
But if you are a very flexible player, maybe you learn champions fast, or perhaps you enjoy
playing any champion no matter what their kit is, perhaps taking advantage of that OP
champion for two weeks until the nerf lands isn’t such a bad idea.
Most of us, I would wager are somewhere in the middle between those two types of people,
and at the end of the day the decision is really up to you.
So ask yourself, why are you playing this champion?
Consider how strong the champion may be after the nerf, research often about which champions
are getting nerfed, and depending on the scenario it can be totally okay to invest in them or
maybe a waste of time.
But I will say that the community does typically overreact to nerfs, and quite often you might
find that the champion in question is still worth playing afterwards.
Especially these days, with Riot taking a much more cautious approach to how they nerf
champions.
Gone are the days of nerfing a champion into the ground, nowadays nerfs often come in the
form of minor hits or tweaks.
One things for sure though, is that we can always expect to see more nerfs to champions
in the future.
Thanks for watching.

with a nerf, so leave a comment down below.
Either way, good luck out there, have fun with your champions, and I’ll see you guys
