Prayers of millions and billions have finally been answered.
Gohan is great again; he pushed Goku to go Super Saiyan Blue kaio-ken.
Yeap, a full powered Goku, but what made us all excited is the change in Gohan’s attitude,
the way he walked in the restaurant and challenged Goku right away was a delight to watch.
This is the most serious Gohan has ever been since the start of DBS.
The episode started with Gohan challenging Goku and ended with Gohan becoming the team
leader as Goku was totally impressed by his improvement.
In a matter of fact, we quite haven’t seen Gohan being this serious ever before.
The change in attitude is the headline, previously in Zen Exhibition Gohan mentioned his Saiyan
blood is coming into play after all, as he is feeling pumped up just by the idea of fighting.
This is the biggest difference maker for Gohan in this arc, and thus will help him to reach
new heights.
The Piccolo-Gohan team is unparalleled they grew up together and knows each other better
than anyone else.
So, Goku and Tien just weren’t able to keep up with their planned attacks.
While Piccolo was charging up his Super Explosive Wave, Gohan went all intense to keep Tien
and Goku distracted.
Well, about Tien, he kind of dealt with him by himself.
Witnessing the sheer power of the Saiyans, he just freaked out and wasn’t able to do
anything at all.
I wasn’t really comfortable with what they did with Tien in this episode.
Tien might be weak, but he was never a coward.
We have seen him deal with opponents many folds powerful than him, but he dealt with
them like a badass.
Yeah, Tien did get killed by Nappa, but he went head to head with him and gave everything
he had.
He literally held down Cell and had a significant impact on the plot by helping 18 to escape.
He was always shown to be calm but tough martial artist who never breaks down no matter what.
Now, of course, I don’t have any problem with Gohan totally outmatching Tien, rather
we would have problems if the opposite happened.
But, what really bothered us was the way Tien reacted to it.
He pulled off a Krillin, while Krillin these days have changed, and dares to even trouble
SSB Goku with his strategies.
I kind of see their motive behind it, Tien was an element there to glorify the Goku v
Gohan battle by reacting all shocked to it.
To make us the audiences feel the velocity of the fight, but I think in the process they
hurt Tien’s character a little too much.
In defense, we can say Tien wasn’t facing any enemies.
We also see him urging to stop the fight when the mountains were getting destroyed, which
was really a logical call.
They, then the fight off the ground!
As a Tien fan, I am hoping he will do just fine in the battle royal, and be his usual
self.
One incident isn’t gonna change the way fans think of Tien or tarnish his image.
Meanwhile, Piccolo was done charging his Super Explosive wave, except it’s many times more
explosive than before.
Making it almost look like a new attack, Piccolo’s improvement is going rather unnoticed.
He bested SSJ2 Gohan and even outsmarted Mystic Gohan.
Piccolo is one of the most legit warriors, and he kept training throughout the years
while many like Gohan was resting.
It looks like he modified many of his old moves and increased its effectiveness.
Like, the explosive wave is way powerful now.
In Episode 88, we see him using a cool technique, and he was even able to attack with a detached
arm.
So hopes high for Piccolo.
Gohan v Goku!
Gohan starts with his ultimate form, but Goku decides to start with SSJ2 and tells Gohan
he will have to push him to go higher.
So, basically, Goku is not gonna use his full power, unless Gohan does the same.
This is where this fight stands out from Goku’s other recent encounters, where he didn’t
actually urge anyone to force him to go SSB.
So unlike what happened with Krillin or 17.
Gohan was going to have to have to leave Goku with no option other than going Super Saiyan
Blue.
I really loved this move from SSJ 2 Goku, where he uses instant transmission to get
through the Kamehameha, and it’s so fast it’s almost like Gohan was engaged in a
ki struggle with Goku while he got exposed to him, and took the hit.
Many people say Instant Transmission doesn’t represent Goku’s speed.
Well, it doesn’t but if Goku can use a technique in a combat that makes him move instantly
that is he can out speed his opponents.
That is no different than his speed being instant.
This must be upsetting for people who think Superman can defeat Goku in a combat.
Anyways, eventually, Gohan starts using more of his power, and forces Goku to not only
go Super Saiyan Blue but also top it off with Kaio-Ken.
Gohan is literally being God level without even having the literal God Ki, which is the
best a Gohan fan could have asked for at this point.
Anyways, Mystic Gohan and SSB x Kaioken Goku charge each other with everything they have,
and the collision of the impact is felt throughout the entire Earth.
Of course, Goku wins it, but the mere fact that Gohan was able to match up was amusing
and made Gohan the leader of Universe 7 team.
Also, as he got totally beaten up, he will probably get a huge zenkai boost leading up
to the tournament, so he is walking in even more powerful.
Almost being Super Saiyan Blue level.
Apart from that, in the episode, we also got a look at U10, and things over there look
pretty disappointing.
They show one fighter, who looks like a GYM Muscle Dude with no power type of a joke,
he is rather interested in drinking protein than fighting.
Gowasu’s reaction was like WTF Ramoosh.
I wonder if Gowasu will be doing something real desperate and crazy using his time ring.
I mean Goku is seeking the help of Frieza, and Frieza is the Guy who destroyed his father
and his home planet.
I will leave the rest to your imagination.
Another thing that interests me was Master Roshi.
He said he still could teach Goku some attacks, of course, he can.
Like he never taught that electrical paralyzing attack to Goku or Krillin, that attack has
the potential to kill an opponent.
Imagine someone like SSB Goku using that killer move.
Goku learned Kamehameha from Master Roshi, and now it gets used even against the likes
of Beerus.
I would certainly love it if Goku learns something new from Roshi sometimes in the future.
Also, if you noticed while Roshi was watching the encounter from the sidelines, everything
he called turned out to be right.
That’s what happens when you have 400 years of martial arts experience.
Also, his power is being kept mysterious, in last episode, he was rendered inactive
when Chiatzuo distracted Yurin allowing Goku to take him out.
Thus, he was not defeated fair and square.
So, we don’t exactly know where he stands in terms power but keep in mind Goku really
admired his power when Roshi wasn’t holding back.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Roshi becomes one of the top 5 performers of U7.
Anyways, what’s your overall take on all this?
What do you think about Gohan?

See you in the next, Dragon Ball Super Episode.
