in which they took over the Viridian Pokémon Center. After their first defeat at the hands
of Ash's Pikachu convinced them of its extraordinary power, the trio made their main goal to capture
Pikachu. Looking into this, over the years Team Rocket have actually come very close
to finally capturing Pikachu on a number of different occasions. With that being said,
today’s video takes a look at 5 times team rocket nearly stole ash’s pikachu. Don’t
hesitate to drop a comment down below about the video and if you found it interesting
or not! Don’t forget to leave a like on this video too to show your support and I’ll

further ado, let’s get into the video and I really hope that you enjoy!
Starting things off and claiming the number five spot in today’s top five video is the
episode titled, Pokemon Emergency. Like mentioned earlier in the video, The Team Rocket trio
first appeared in Pokémon Emergency, in which they took over the Viridian Pokémon Center.
However, at this moment, they also came pretty close to stealing Pikachu too. This was because
Pikachu was pretty badly injured from the episode before in which he took out a bunch
of Spearow to protect Ash, but also took a lot of damage in the process. Because Pikachu
was so weak and unable to defend himself, it made stealing him much easier for Team
Rocket, who obviously didn’t know about the little yellow mouse Pokemon up until this
point in the Pokemon anime. Plus, this was one of the only times in the Pokemon anime
that Team Rocket looked like they knew what they were doing and actually had a chance
to steal some of the Pokemon from the Pokemon centre, but of course we all know how this
episode ended. Still, if Team Rocket played their cards right they could have stolen Pikachu
at the very start of the anime, even though that would have made the Pokemon anime pretty
boring to watch from this point on. For all of these reasons, Team Rocket nearly stealing
Pikachu in the episode Pokemon Emergency takes the number five spot in today’s top five
video.
Coming in at the number four spot in today’s top five video is the episode titled charmander
the stray Pokemon. Near the end of the episode, Ash, Brock, and Misty, end up triggering a
pitfall and fall into the hole. Team Rocket then appear, laughing at the fact that their
trap worked. Pikachu tries to shock them, but they are dressed in rubber uniforms that
insulate against electricity. Pikachu tries to run, but they release a special ball that
encompasses Pikachu and also insulates his electricity. Laughing at the group's plight,
Team Rocket prepare to leave with Pikachu in tow, when Charmander confronts them. Charmander,
as translated by Meowth, orders them to give Pikachu back to Ash and the others. Team Rocket
naturally refuse, and warn the Charmander to beat it or else. The Charmander responds
by closing its eyes, focusing hard, and unleashing a massive Flamethrower, which roasts Team
Rocket. They drop the Pikachu balloon and flee. Now if you think that if Charmander
decided to just simply go back to Damian and didn’t show up at this point, Team Rocket
would have just easily walked off with Pikachu and thus, stealing it once and for all. Of
course though this wasn’t the case but the episode charmander the stray Pokemon still
takes the number four spot in today’s top five video.
Coming in at the halfway point in today’s top five video is the episode titled A friend
In Deed. After Team Rocket pull a stunt and steal hundreds of Pokemon in their Pokeballs,
including Pikachu, Ash and Ritchie chase after them, cutting through the mountains to reach
the escaping van. Suddenly, they come onto the road where the Rockets are traversing
upon. When seeing the "twerps", James swerves off the road and down a hill and into a river.
The next day, the pair come across tire tracks. Ash and Ritchie follow the tracks, and discover
the van along with the sleeping trio of Rockets. They creep through the camp towards the van,
and find a muffled voice. It's Pikachu! They are reunited, and the Poké Balls are there
too! However, Team Rocket has woken up and finds them trespassing. They quickly rush
out of the van, lock the doors, and drive. By the end of the episode, Ash and Ritchie
defeat Team Rocket and rescue everybody’s Pokemon, including Pikachu. Now, if Team Rocket
were a little smarter, they could have easily just kept driving because they would never
have been caught up by two ten year olds following on foot, but of course, Team Rocket aren’t
smart. And so for these reasons, the episode a friend in deed takes the number three spot
in today’s top five video.
Coming in at the number two spot in today’s top five video is the episode titled Heroes,
Friends and Faux Alike. In the wake of yet another unsuccessful attempt to grab Pikachu,
Team Rocket comes up with a new plan: dress up like Ash, Serena, and Bonnie, then run
around town, wreaking havoc everywhere! When the actual Ash, Serena, and Bonnie arrive
in town, they learn of the strange goings-on and promise Officer Jenny they will stay out
of trouble while she investigates. Meanwhile, Jessie and James, now disguised as scientists
from the Kalos Institute of Technology, have lured Clemont away from the others and coaxed
him into helping them with a couple of their robots. The next day, using these Clemont-improved
devices, which they're calling "Team Rocketronic Gear", they grab Pikachu and make their getaway—until
Clemont introduces a new invention! Team Rocket is sent blasting off again, Pikachu is safely
returned, and our heroes resume their journey to Shalour City. This was probably one of
Team Rocket’s best ideas across the whole of the anime and were so close to finally
stealing Pikachu, and if it wasn’t for Clemonts new inventions they would have finally completed
their mission too. For all of these reasons though, the episode heroes, friends and faux
alike takes the number two spot in today’s top five video.
Finishing things off though and claiming the number one spot in today’s top five video
is the episode titled The Sun, the Scare, the Secret Lair! After approximately 954 attempts,
not including 20 movies and TV specials, Team Rocket is finally going to win! Seriously
though. They're actually going to beat Ash in a Pokemon battle. The Mareanie James just
found, who is madly in love with him, fights with all of its might against Ash's Rowlett.
Mimikyu, meanwhile who has been travelling with Team Rocket this entire time, absolutely
HATES Pikachu, and gladly gives its all in trying to murder our favourite rodent. The
power of love and hate combine to give Team Rocket the edge, and they actually defeat
Ash, fair and square in a battle. They would have also stolen Pikachu at this point too,
that is until Bewear jumps out of the water and takes Team Rocket with him. If Bewear
hadn’t have showed up, Ash would have had no Pokemon to defend himself with and they
would have easily just stole Pikachu right there and then. For all of these reasons though,
the episode The Sun, the Scare, the Secret Lair takes the number one spot in today’s
top five video.
