So I will explain what, how to enable macros, what this game is all about, so the aim of
the game and how to play this in Excel.
So here you can see the first error message is the protected view, so I need to enable
editing.
Then it says macros have been disabled.
Sometimes this might be a pop up.
You have to enable the content, without enabling it, you will not be able to interact, meaning
that you will not be able to play the game.
So once I have pressed to enable macros, I will see a new tab called 2048.
This is usually after the view tab.
However, I have also enabled developer tab in my Excel.
So here you can see various options, but I will talk about the aim of the game first.
So the aim of the game is quite in the title.
You have to a tile, which will equal to 2048.
So each one of these are tiles, so it is 4 by 4, meaning that you have 16 tiles to play
around with.
The way that you increase the number of the tile is by combining two tiles with the same
value.
So for example if I combine this one with this one, they would be 4 and it will keep
growing.
So you need to have many value tiles.
So I will demonstrate with a new game.
However, I will turn off the audio, make it 2D and let's press start game.
So as you can see I have two tiles equal to number 2.
Now there are four arrow keys and these are used to play the game.
So for example I will press up and as you can see the two tiles moved to the top.
So they will always move as far as they can.
So if there would be another tile here or actually if there would be a.
Let's say I would have a tile here and then I would want to move it up to the top, but
there would be another tile here.
So it would move from here to here.
You might also notice that when you make a move, another tile will always appear and
that tile will have a value of two.
So now let's try combining two tiles.
So here I can go either to left or right to combine them and let's go to right.
As you can see this becomes four, because two plus two is four.Let's go like this.
Now we have two fours and then it becomes and eight.
So it is quite simple game and obviously you need to get a tile equal to this.
But it becomes more complex, because when you have some big tiles you will have quite
a few of them and then it will be quite hard to manevour.
So this is quite challenging and I recommend to practice.
So now let's go up to the menu here to see what this is.
So the first one is a new game, exactly like this.
Both of them will do the same thing.
Now the most important part is here, where you can select or look at the moves you have
done.
So for example I will go here and then you can analyse how else you could have played
it out.
In case you want to play differently.
Let's say from, this is my last move I think, yes.
Let's say I want to from here want to play this differently.
So I would press undo.
The undo action will erase all stored moves from this point onwards.
Yes.
Let's say I want to play it like this.
This is just to show you how the menu works and here you can go to the website of the
creator of this game.
If you don't want to lose your progress simply save the workbook and this will be saved.
So I will close the workbook, open it up again.
This is the latest one.
Here you can see my progress and the moves are still stored, if you want to look at them
and maybe undo them, if you need to.
So this is the game.
I hope that you enjoyed it, have fun playing it and see you guys in the next lecture.
