during her time in the limelight. Express.co.uk spoke to a surgeon about the surgery he believes
Melania has undergone to change her look - and how much she has spent on it.
Melania, 45, was born and raised in Sevnica, Slovenia, and claims she always dreamed of
becoming a model.
The soon-to-be First Lady of the United States had a successful career after meeting fashion
photographer Stane Jerko in 1987 at a modelling contest.
However, the fresh-faced looks of her modelling heyday seem to have had a little help from
cosmetic professionals in her slide towards middle age.
Express.co.uk spoke exclusively to cosmetic doctor Dr. Dev Patel, medical director of
Perfect Skin Solutions in Portsmouth, who estimated Melania's cosmetic transformation
ahead of becoming the First Lady would likely cost anywhere between £10,000-£12,000 in
the UK.
He said: "I think few people could deny that she is strikingly beautiful in her still shots,
but considering the masses now indulge in facial aesthetic treatments I would be extremely
surprised if an ex-model (who has such a spotlight on her) would not be doing the same.
"I noticed the very obvious signs of likely Botox recently, when watching her on a TV
interview. She was given a rather personal account of her background yet her upper face
was not moving in harmony with her words. In fact, it was not moving at all. This suggests
too heavy doses are being used by her doctor. The effects of Botox look great but only when
the result is more natural in appearance."
He also believes Melania has had a nose job, and Mr Jag Chana, Consultant Plastic Surgeon,
agreed.
Mr Chana said Melania’s nose was the main factor in her facial restructuring.
He said: “Comparing the earlier photo when she is younger and the later life pictures
one can see that the nasal shape has changed.”
Melania has likely had her nose slimmed and made more shapely than in her earlier years.
Mr Chana added: “The nose is narrower and the tip is more refined.
“The very minor irregularities along the bridge line are suggestive of an osteotomy
which is part of the procedure during a rhinoplasty which narrows the nose.”
He also suggested that the future first lady had the help of injectables to give her a
luscious pout.
He said: “Compared to her younger photograph the top lip appears fuller. This likely as
a result of lip fillers.”
Botox was also credited as a likely source of Melania’s middle-age look.
He said: “The forehead is completely smooth and wrinkle free – so likely botox.”
Mr Chana’s comments are speculative, and the constant cannot categorically state that
Melania has had the above treatments.
Dr Munir Somji, Chief Medical Officer at Dr MediSpa, also commented on the work Melania
may have had.
He agreed with Mr Chana that the former model has likely had a rhinoplasty and he added:
"I would say Melania has had forehead contouring with filler to make it more rounded, with
Botox to lift the brows. She also appears to have had buccal fat removal to slim the
face, alongside fillers around the jawline with radio frequency tightening to give a
chiselled look."
Dr. Dev Patel added that Melania has likely had a host of skin improving treatments.
He said: "Her skin is remarkably smooth which could be down to chemical skin peels or anti
ageing skin tightening treatments like Lipofirm Pro or BTL Exilis.
"In the UK this selection of cosmetic treatments, many of which require bi-annual top ups, could
cost anywhere between £10,000-£12,000 making it quite a costly beauty overhaul, but she
does look great for them."
