New Japanese Hair Products - Tried and Tested: EP112

Hello girlfriends and welcome to another episode of Tried and Tested.
As you can see we're in a slightly different environment today.
Not a green-screen!
Okay so we are here because we're testing out some new Japanese haircare products and we thought.
Let's go with the theme.
So today we are testing out a non-silicone shampoo and treatment from Lux Luminique.
And this is made in Japan.
Waa! That's so gorgeous can you see this guys!
So the design of these bottle, they're so pretty.
To me they look like little gemstones.
Like you know when you're younger and you play with like errr
the princess kits.
Come on you guys did right!
And it looks kind of like this.
So Lux hair is the No.1 haircare brand in Japan.
And we know how Japanese women can be quite particular about their beauty products
so they know their stuffs.
And the Luminique ranges is finally in Singapore.
I got to try it about a month before it hits the shelves.
And I really liked it so
we are here to share it with you guys.
So Lux Luminique's shampoo range is silicone-free.
Why is that a good thing?
Well today we have a special guest
Hajime-san who's a professional hair stylist to tell us more.

Shu An: He is really Japanese.
Okay so Hajime-san
From what I know silicon in shampoo actually coats your hair
it's leaves it shiny
and it also helps to reduce damage when you're washing your hair because it reduces friction.
So silicon actually sounds like a pretty good thing,
so why have non-silicon shampoos become so popular in Japan in the past few years?
Shu An: Is that so!
But in the absence of silicones most non-silicon shampoo actually leaves your hair feeling quite dry and dull.
So how is Lux Luminique different?
The secret is in the richness of it's lather.
So in the previous episode we talked about how foam can be damaging because it causes friction when you're washing your hair.
So the way around this is to use no foam shampoo.
But some people still like the feeling of foam in their hair.
So what Lux Luminique has done it has created a shampoo
that still foam but it's exceptionally gentle so won't damage your hair during washing.
So it creates this thick creamy lather that coats your hair and protects it in replacement of the silicone.
It's like a cushion so the richer the lather the gentler it is.
Now I have actually been using the shampoo for a while and I really
found that it really was creamy when I say creamy
it really creamy and it foamed really quickly as well
which like normally you know when you wash your hair you have to like
for a while before all the foam comes up but this one was like
boom!
Okay not that, you know not that fast.
But you know what I mean like really a lot faster
and it was very smooth.
I'll show you what i mean.
Now I'm going to perform a small test against a strong haircare competitor in the market
in the same price range.
Let's call this competitor X.
So in here we have an equal composition of shampoo and water.
We're going to foam it up and fill up these beaker.
We'll put the duck inside.
And the creamier the lather,
the longer the duck will stay up.
One duck's swimming and one duck's not! Quack! Quack! Quack!
So this one it stay up a lot higher,
it shows that the lather is creamier, is thicker and provides a lot more protection for your hair.
Okay now it's time to try on my hair.
Would you please wash my hair for me?
Hajime: Yes!
Hmm! That smell so good!
So this has the Damascus rose in it and I can also smell
some notes of peach.
And there's a hint of musk in there.
And this really doesn't smell like the regular drugstore brands it smells very Lux!
Lux Luminique is huge in fragrances and this range has specially curated fragrances.
It really feel very luxurious.
So I wash off the shampoo and you know what Lux Luminique contains essential oils
so it leaves your hair smooth and tangle free.
Now that we washed off the shampoo it is time for the treatment.
Do not skip the treatment it will give you better results.
Hajima-san! Let's go!
So how you do it is that you squeeze out the excess water and you put it on.
And this treatment contains certified organic jojoba oil.
So it's very good for you and it smell so good. Hmm!
Okay so we've wash out the shampoo the treatment we have a blow-dry.

I think the biggest difference is that it leaves my hair feeling really bouncy and airy.
Yeah like. *Woosh*
*Woosh*
And it smells.
It smells so good!
And it's just look so healthy and shiny you know.
I love this and my scalp,
my scalp feels really clean and you know what, everything just washes out so fast.
Okay so that's it. And this is the entire range for Lux Luminique.
The red one is for damaged hair.
This green one is for dry hair.
Hmmm! Smell!
You like it! Haha!
This is actually more of like a woody woody kind of smell, it's
I mean for lack of a better description it smells very green.
So the gold one, this one is for dull hair.
Mmm! This is very fruity.
You almost want to drink it.
Hajime-san: Oh Fruity. Shu An: Yeah right!
Super Fruity!
Which ones which one do you like
Hajime-sna: Err! I like this one!
Shu An: Ah! Me too, me too.
So this is a morning mist, you use it in morning as a quick perk me up for your hair
and then you have night serum which you use
overnight and it suppose to nourish your hair.
And they both leave your hair smelling amazing.
