Topaz Yates back with another album review.
This time to SZA CTRL.
I am giving this one the yellow light because it just isn't that good of project.
As this is the first SZA project I have come across so I came into this with no expectations
but it falls short like most of the music TDE has been putting out.
My main issue is simply on the surface level.
It merely doesn't entertain musically.
For those who don't like to go deep into lyricism this will ultimately become background music.
See the substance comes in when you begin to nderstand what she is talking.
As I see her musically as the modern day Erica Badu but her content isn't that different.
She talks about simular things as acts like the Weeknd but more of a female point of view.
But lets go ahead and break this down, I won't be able to touch on every song but I will
touch on the ones that peaked my interest.
Start with Love Galore featuring Travis Scott.
This song is about having fligs but ultimately catching feelings.
That
is
a key thing because there are
but a select few people
who
actually can get sexually involved with people and not have any emotions.
All
the time dudes put it
on
women but once a women
is openly having
a relationship
with another man then all of
that flips up.
