(deep rumbling music)
Say good morning everyone.
Good morning everyone, right? Right?
Cause it's morning. You waking up?
You ready for the day?
Not quite?
Pretty set.
You're gonna give me a morning smile?
No good morning smile?
Oh, big yawn.
Guess what, Duncan, I can't find my razor.
I found blades but no holder for my razor
so I am growing a beard.
Oh, and Jes has her razor and she can't find her blades
so she's gonna have an armpit beard.
What do you think?
You like our new style? Kinda scratchy.
Kind of a scratchy smooch, kind of a scratchy style.
Sorry about it.
Today, we are going to the doctor for Jessica
to follow up from, you know,
the whole being pregnant and giving birth and what not.
Then, we're gonna go to the passport office
and get you a passport.
Today's the day. You gotta do it.
It's gotta happen.
Excited?
I thought so.
Time to unwrap this baby.
Ooh, you got an arm loose.
You got an arm loose, how's that feel?
Pretty good? Ooh, give me a little stretch. (laughing)
All right and let's get the other arm loose.
Oh, oh, wiggles and stretches and wiggles.
Oh, now you got both arms loose.
How does that feel?
Do you even realize that this one's loose yet?
Do you even realize it?
There it is! Oh boy, big stretches.
Oh, a couple of toots.
You ready for the day?
You're so cute.
You're so cute.
Kisses. (kissing)
- Good morning everyone.
We're about to go to our doctor appointment.
Bailey, you look like a child of the summer.
I love it.
Maybe a little late, but we might not,
the adventures of parenting.
- The doctor's appointment went good.
Mommy's allowed to lift heavy stuff now.
She's allowed to run and she's allowed to go upstairs.
- [Boy] And she's allowed to play basketball.
- Yes, she's allowed to play basketball too.
- [Boy] And baseball.
- And baseball. That's really exciting.
Now, we should just start looking at this little guy.
Hi little baby.
- So the doctor appointment went well,
and now we are off to the passport office
to see if there's a long line or a short line.
Or maybe no line at all. Right, Christopher?
Probably no line.
- Oh, I'm going with no line.
- Yup.
We really wanna go to Vancouver in the next month,
so we'll see if that can happen.
- I wanna do it today.
- You wanna go to Vancouver today?
- Uh-uh.
- Mama, do I have a passport?
- I'm ready to hop in the plane at any time.
Maybe we could just schedule a flight for today.
(laughing)
- We can't get Duncan's passport that fast.
We have to wait for it to come in the mail.
And Parker, you do have a passport.
That's how you got to Canada the first time.
- Oh man, the elusive passport.
We went to a new passport office in hopes
that it wouldn't have as long of a wait as the other one.
- There was no wait. Zero wait.
- Zero wait, because it was closed,
and it said go to the one that you went to before.
We shut down in 2014 and online,
it said that it was still open.
Like we did check, but I guess
they didn't update their online information.
We will be off to the other one again later today.
We keep trying. - Which is two cities away.
- It's a couple cities away.
We're like driving cities all over the place
because we don't have a passport office
in the town we live in, at all.
So we tried a different one in a different city
to see if it had less of a wait and it just doesn't exist.
And so now we've gotta drive a couple cities
over to the other ones.
It's kind of funny (laughing).
- Sure, you can call it funny.
- And silly.
- Basically, we kind of gave up on the passport today.
We'll get it. We're not giving up completely.
But we went to the one post office
and then the drive back from that post office
was super trafficky and we didn't get home
until much later than we were planning.
At that point, we had to like upload the vlog
and do some administrative stuff.
We realized that we needed to spend today
working on the house.
So that's what we did, Jessica works on this room over here.
So she's still working on this room.
- Yeah.
- Cleaning dishes and such.
- Oh, I was gonna show you how I have like,
a corner, and now.
- This corner here?
- Yeah, it's not-
- Yeah?
- Now it's a little messed up again. I was like ...
- There's things in here. That's the important thing.
There's stuff that's being put into cupboards
and being put away.
I could've expected the moving people
to do some of the unpacking.
That's part of what I thought it was gonna be.
But that's not what it was.
So it ended up just piles of boxes.
Let me show you our garage.
- We've never hired a mover.
- We've never used a mover.
- Never done it, so we didn't know what it would be like.
- Yeah, I kind of thought it was gonna be like,
here you go, you packed us up and bring into our house
and put it in its spot or close to its spot.
But instead, what it was is,
they kind of packed up our stuff
and then threw it into the garage.
So this is where,
we were planning on parking our car in here
and now there's this huge pile of stuff.
These racks which was supposed to be
on the other side of these boxes.
And then tons of boxes here.
So I need to move all of these boxes again
to put the racks in so that I can put the box,
the stuff in the boxes on the racks where they belong.
But this is like all the stuff
that's supposed to be in our house
and supposed to be in storage here in the garage
and it's just kind of daunting
and I don't wanna do it.
So instead, what I did is I went to the hardware store
and got this new rack system that I'm very excited about.
So I can put my tools up on this rack.
I've been using my tools a lot more at this house,
just because there's been stuff to fix.
I gotta attach everything to the walls and such,
and I had to install the washing machine and the dryer
which again, I thought the movers were gonna do,
but I'm doing it. I did it.
So having an organized tool area seemed like a good move
because I keep going like, where is this, where is that?
And if I have it on one spot and it's all organized,
then I won't waste time doing that.
Are you playing with your sister?
Are you playing with Bailey? - Woop.
- Woah, what was that? - Woop.
- Is Bailey playing the game with you?
- Woop.
- You're playing a game with him?
- Uh-uh.
(playing and laughing)
(laughing)
- Oh man, I have had kind of a rough day today.
Not because things have been bad.
Things have been fine.
I just, I have this like, crazy headache
and I don't know if my, like hormones or my chemicals
or something are regulating or ...
I don't know what's going on
but I have been grouchy and weird and ...
And it's just been a really, really, really off day for me.
My head is like (laughing).
Christopher's been really great.
He took the kids to the hardware store
and like, got all the stuff to get things more to the wall.
Cause I'm like, get this stuff to the wall,
connected, make it safe.
And I got to just power out cleaning the kitchen.
Sorry, Duncan's there singing.
He's like getting all spazzy (laughing).
And I got to powerhouse putting stuff away in the kitchen,
and there is so much to do.
We're gonna be unpacking for weeks and weeks
and months and months, I don't know.
It feels like a really long time.
I am almost done with all the boxes
that were in the kitchen, but I think that there are
more mystery kitchen boxes somewhere in our garage.
Cause I know that we're missing some things.
Including Christopher's coffee grinder.
So we have his coffee machine, but not his grinder
and he always buys whole beans
so he's been out of coffee for days.
I don't know how he's alive.
How are you alive honey?
Have you been going to Starbucks?
- I have had time to go to Starbucks, but ...
- Yeah, I assumed, I mean, this is a guy who, like,
has coffee running through his veins.
- Not anymore.
- Not anymore? And he's, you're handling it though. I think.
He looks good (laughing).
- That's cause I couldn't find my razor
and I haven't been able to shave.
- Yeah, he hasn't been able to shave.
- I look rugged.
- He does. He looks rugged.
- I look like a manly.
- Yeah, very, very manly because his hair
is growing out of his face the way men hair does.
It's just been a day and the kids are sweethearts.
They've been so, so, so good. They've been so good.
And that, like, gets me all upset too with myself
because I've been just grumpy and I've been a little snappy,
and I just feel really bad about it.
I just haven't been getting much sleep
between moving and babying.
Hi baby.
He's so cute, he's like so cute.
Anyway, thought I'd just give a little update on that
on the fact that I have kind of a rough day,
but I'm enjoying moving in.
Like I really, really, am enjoying it.
I think part of what's hard is
that I have a lot of opportunity to kind of
stare at the mess when I'm nursing and like,
kind of feel frustrated that I'm not able to be more mobile.
Like I can't do as much as I want to do
because either me or Christopher
or one of the kids sometimes,
but one of us has to be holding the baby.
It makes more sense most of the time
for me to be the one holding the baby.
I love holding him, so that's like a thing too.
I'm like, I love just cuddling with him
and holding him and nursing him.
I just, I like, I really, really love it.
I'm having such a wonderful baby time with him.
He's so cute, but I'm also like staring out into things
that I want to fix.
That's hard cause I just can't do everything.
But the times I do get to do things,
I feel really accomplished and really happy.
This guy's going to town.
So, I don't know.
- Hi, let's talk about what we learned today.
We learned that if you can't find your razor,
you should grow a beard or better yet, an armpit beard.
We learned that getting a passport is impossible.
And finally we learned that if you're feeling overwhelmed
by the moving process, just ignore it.
Get yourself a cool rack for your tools.
(guitar playing)
Thanks for watching everybody.
We'll see you next time.
(baby laughing)
(rhythmic music)
