I wanted to talk about Stefan Karl steffanson, the man that you may know as Robbie Rotten.
Now most of you may know of him because of his memes, and maybe some of you don’t even
know what I am talking about, So let me refresh your memory.
*Music of the heavens*
I tell ya that song hits the spot every time. The we are number one memes were the biggest
memes of 2016 and perhaps the biggest memes ever! The meme focused on the character Robbie
Rotten that stefan played.
But beyond that the man behind the meme is an actual person, luckily a person with a
much smaller chin But sadly a person who is dealing with a pretty tough situation at this
moment in time.
You see stefan has been battling cancer for quite some time now but recently it was announced
that the cancer has developed to stage 4,which is obviously not good news. and according
to a post that his wife posted on the internet, drastically limits the amount of time that
he has left.
Although the news seems grim, he seems to be handling stuff pretty well considering
the circumstances. He recently celebrated his 42nd birthday with a helicopter ride with
his family and it looked like he had a blast.
Now since he impacted so many people’s lives with his work on lazy town and also thanks
to the popularity of his memes, there has been tremendous support for him on the internet
throughout this trying time.
First off a Gofundme page was created last year to help his family pay for his medical
expenses and is still up and running. It has raised over 150,000 dollars since October
thanks to the donations of over 10,000 kind people. As many of you know the doctor is
not a cheap thing and sometimes people can use a helping hand, so if you have a spare
dollar or two consider donating to help out one of your favorite memes and his family.
Check under your couches, take in your cans, sell a kidney, hell go strip for a weekend
if you have the body. That’s what I ended up doing but for some reason I only made a
quarter…weird.
The other thing that I wanted to mention was a petition that is currently underway to get
Iceland, which is Stefan’s home country, to erect…get your mind out of the gutter…
a statue of him in his home town of…..oh god….his hometown of…Hafnarfjörður …That’s
a hard one. I know I said that completely wrong. But can you blame me? I mean look at
that letter,is that even a letter? what is that? a d? a J, a T… you know what? Not
important. small details. What I meant to say is they’re trying to get a statue erected
in his hometown of this place.
People are signing the petition in hopes that it persuades the people who have power in
iceland to create a statue that will forever memorialize a man that has touched millions
of people’s hearts and been the driving force of one of the most popular memes to
ever be created.
So yeah, this video isn’t my normal type of video that I make, but I’ve been reading
up on his status lately and it really struck a chord with me and I wanted to inform you
guys about whats going on and things that you can do to help if you choose to. if either
of these things interest you I will have links in the description down below so you can go
check em out.
Now I’m not the type of person who prays, but I will be keeping him in my thoughts as
he battles the bastard known cancer. Regardless of the outcome he has had an impact on millions
of people’s lives and that is more than what most people can say when everything is
said and done. Stay strong stefan!
And as for you people, I hope you beautiful people are having a wonderful day and continue
to do so. Love and appreciation to all.
“a special thank you to all of you, my dear meme friends, who have been donating to our
family fund at go fund me. thank you so much, it really touches my heart, thank you so much.
Goodbye every body! and keep memeing!
