- I played The Last of Us.
I'm excited to get back into it.
In The Last of Us 2, they announced
that that's coming out in a couple years.
- (FBE) This is a DLC from the original game
that gives you a little insight into Ellie's backstory.
- Oh, it's like an extra thing?
- Her friend was infected, and then her friend died,
but Ellie didn't, right? - Mm-hmm.
That's gotta be a weird process, to find out you're immune.
So that'd be crazy if that's what the story is about.
- (FBE) Even though we couldn't bring back
all the Reactors who played Last of Us on the React channel,
Jasser, you have played the game before,
and we got this surprise video message for you.

I am so sorry that I can't be there to play Last of Us.
I am out of state at school right now,

- Oh my god, I forgot, I named the horse George,

- (Ellie) I think we're safe.
- It's interesting that it's starting us off

because it gives us some context.
- So this is probably like how they get from fall to winter.

So time is of the essence.

- Okay, yeah, because we want to get medical supplies.
- This is far into the apocalypse.
I bet you that place has been picked clean.

I feel like the second I go in here,
some shit is gonna come out and scare me.

- And, also, I'm not playing, you know, so it's like

- Oh yeah, there's a pair of scissors in there.
- When you pick up tools, you can make
your own makeshift weapons. - Okay, okay.
- So you can make these grenades that have scissors in them.
- Oh, of course, we gotta go into the back.
- Is it open? - (Ellie) Oh, come on!
- Use the scissors to pick the lock. - Ooh!
- (Ellie) How the [bleep] do I get inside?
- You don't.
- I was waiting for something to pop-- "need key," yep.
The door is rusted. Kick it down.
Use a chair. Be resourceful.

- We need a key.
- It could be behind the desk somewhere.

Maybe it'll tell us where the key is.

The pharmacist went crazy and attacked me.

I locked him in the American Princess store next door."

That store is really creepy, just a bunch of small dolls.

- So we didn't even have to memorize it.

(roll-up door squeaking noisily)
(Ellie grunting) - Ew!
- Back up. - Argh, anxiety!
- I'm gonna listen. No, we good, we good.
- I really hate this. - (Ellie) Shit. Spores.
- Oh, [bleep]. What does that mean?
Does it mean one of the Bloaters is around here or something?
- (Ellie) If you're gonna jump out at me--

It's always good to get the supplies.
- Can we makeshift stuff right now?

Open your bag and see if you can craft something.

- These spores start making them into the Clickers,
and they just progressively get more disgusting.
- (Ellie) Don't come to life.
- Well, you should have stabbed it first.
- Yeah, right?
- I hate these scenes because you never know
whether they're gonna jump out at you.
Aaaah! - (Ellie) [Bleep].

- Stop lingering!
Get it and-- aaaah!! - Oh my god! He's moving!

- (chuckling anxiously)
- (Clicker growling) - (gasping)

- If you want, you can throw it somewhere
and I think it will distract him.
- (Clicker croaking)
(brick smashing into roll-up door) - [Bleep]!

(glass breaking) (Clicker snarling)
- All right, go that way. - (shrilly) Aah!
- (Clicker croaking)
(glass breaking)
- (Clicker snarling) - Aaah!!
- Ew! That is disgusting.
- Ellie, run! Run, bitch!
- We good. We good.
Too easy.
- Look out, he's right there.
(door squeaking) - (Ellie) Yes!
- All right. - Close the door behind you!
- Tripping us out. - What the--?!
- (Ellie) [Bleep]. - (laughing)
- This game-- that is this entire game.
It's like, "Hope? Nope!"
- Really? - I know.
Typical, typical video game scenario.
- I remember this now.
It's always-- there's always something wrong.
- (Ellie) A military helicopter. - (sighing)
- That was just-- okay. - (Ellie) It's gotta have something.

- X. (glass crunching)

- Let's run to the other side of that door.

(clicking flashlight) - I'm gonna come over here.

Need to get materials so we can start making
Molotavs and whatnot.

And we have to go over there.
There's something shining. - (groaning)

(Ellie groaning) No sutures.
Well, at least we can use this. - What is that?

I executed the infection protocol before Officer Caulfield
could turn into an infected.
So now what?
- Now I have to go to the helicopter,
which is all the way across the mall,
which seems stupid.

- We're gonna have to jump down. - I don't think you can.
- (Ellie) Here we go! - Oh, you can, sweet.
- (Riley) Hurry. Up here. (scuffling footsteps)
(door opening) - Is this Riley again?
- (Ellie grunting) - Oh, we're going back to the past.
- (Riley) That was close, huh?
- Where are we, just at their hideout?
- (Riley) You're kind of fast there.
I'm impressed. - (scoffing) Thanks.
- You're just another 12-year-old kid.
I'm not trying to impress you. - (chuckling)
- (Riley) Remember that Firefly you bit and stole his gun?
- No. - (Ellie) Yeah, I remember.
- But I guess you're gonna tell me.
- (Riley) That's Trevor.
I saw him walking down... - Do I have guns?
- (Riley) ...so I tailed his ass. - Nope.
- (Riley) I followed him into this alley
and all these Fireflies ambushed me.
They took me right to their hideout.
To Marlene. - Who is Marlene again?
- (Ellie) Were you scared?
- Wasn't that that girl who died?
- (FBE) Marlene was the leader of the Fireflies.
- Is she one who Joel killed back then?
- (FBE) Spoiler alert, but yeah.
- (Riley) I thought this time she would actually shoot me,
but instead she just says, "What took you so long?"
She was expecting me.
- (Ellie) And she just made you a Firefly?
- (Riley) Something like that.
That whole almost killing me thing was a test.
She wanted to know I was committed.
She asked about you. - (Ellie) Really?
- (Riley) She says you remind her of your mom.
- (Ellie scoffing) Well, she'd know more than me.
- Oh, where'd she go? I wasn't paying attention.
I feel like she went up somewhere.
- What the--?
There just happens to be that right there, you know?
- I mean, yeah. - Makes sense.
- (Riley) Who do you hang out with these days?
- (Ellie) I don't know. No one really.

- (Riley) What about Tino and the rest of the guys?
How are they doing?

- At least she's not with the soldiers,
but she's living on their campus, kind of.
- I don't even know where they're trying to sneak off to.

- (Riley) That was the first thing I asked Marlene.
- Yeah, Marlene, that bitch! - (Riley) She wants you safe
at that stupid school.
I'm not even supposed to come see you.
She's worried I'll get you into trouble.
- We just know she dies.
- (Riley) Hey, remember the first time I brought you here?
- (Ellie) What are we doing-- - Is this the mall?
It's not like-- - The mall that we were at--
- Yeah, but it's a mall, so she's thinking about it.
- (Riley) I have a surprise for you.
- (Ellie) What? Is it a dinosaur?
- (Riley) Maybe.
- (Ellie) I'll be your friend again if it's a dinosaur.
- (Riley) You'll just have to wait and see.
- I say "what" but I feel like this is the kind of conversation
I have with my friends. - (laughing)
- We don't have to really worry about looting
because it's in the past. - Mm-hmm.

Might as well be a cut scene.
- Her voice sounds really familiar and it's bothering me.
Oh, where is it? Oh.
- (Ellie) You know, I got them back.
- (Riley) Our water guns? Bullshit!
You telling me Corporal Dickhead gave them back to you?
- (Ellie) Of course not.
I had to sneak into his office.
Riley, I had them in my hands.
- (Riley) Oh, Ellie.
I keep telling you to give up on them.
They're never coming back.
- (Ellie sighing) They will be mine again.
- Oh, I thought she was talking about her parents or something.
She's still talking about a water gun.
I was like, "Oh, this is getting deep."
- At least they're having a good time, you know?
- Yeah. - Everyone's dead.
But they're having a good time.
- (Riley) I can't believe Winston's gone.
- (Ellie) You heard? - (Riley) Yeah.
Do you know how it happened?
- (Ellie) They said he just fell off his horse.
Heart attack or something. - (Riley) Man.
Well, how many people get to die of natural causes in this world?
- (scoffing) None.
- (Riley) Let's see what he left us.
- (Ellie) Really? - A pot of stew right there, dude.
- Ah, they're looting his place.
Messed up.
- Newspaper. (leaving through)
- (Ellie) What?
- Do we know this guy? - (Ellie) Is this Winston?
- Oh, that is Winston. - (Ellie chuckling)
Man, the guy used to be handsome.
- You're right.
- (Riley) Want some?
- Is that alcohol?
- (Riley) Want some? - Um, no!
- (laughing) Should we accept or reject?
- It's up to you. I don't know.
