Today we have a look at
Thank you so very much to each and every single one of you who took time out of your day to
leave us a comment letting us know that this video would be a topic you would be interested
in seeing.You guys wanted it.
Now you have it.
Here we go!!!
So I’m not sure how many of you actually know this, but once upon a time, long long
ago, in a strange world called the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, tv stations like MTV and
VH1 actually played music videos as their primary source of entertainment.I know, Weird
right?
This was long before people could get free music videos anytime they liked on this wonderful
website you are currently using.
So naturally MTV had to adapt with the creation of the internet.
So instead of music videos they created quality programs like Jackass, Pimp My Ride and MTV
CRIBS,
that show that let you see the inside of celebrity houses and made you want to drink a gallon
of bleach afterwards when you came back to reality and realized you live in a dirty one
bedroom apartment!
But that's besides the point.
But back in 2003, when MTV actually played music, a band called The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s
took the world by storm with their hit song “Maps” off their grammy nominated album
"Fever To Tell".
The years following the initial success of the band were marked with ups and downs but
little did they know that they would soon be involved with a meme!
You see back in 2012 DJ A-Trak remixed the song “Head’s Will Roll” from the Yeah
Yeah Yeah’s third studio album “It’s Blitz!”
The song was included on the video game DJ Hero 2 and the classic rager movie, Project
X. “Head’s Will Roll” gained much more popularity from the exposure in Project X
than it did from the original release as a single.
But it wasn’t until a few years later when the popularity of the song really began to
take off on the internet when SoundCloud user JVH-C uploaded a remix of the song that would
go on to be the first step of the inception of the song being utilized within the Dance
Till You’re Dead remixes.
But as we all know in this crazy and wild west like place we call the internet, a song
usually needs a video element to be accompanied with it for it to reach the level of meme
we have become accustomed to.
Enter the Brazilian Dog Dance.
An innocent yet oddly compelling video of a young villager…wait… is it racist I
just assume he is a villager?
uhh I forgot it's a PC world that we live in now….so ummm lets go with…..A young
male….or female, I don't assume genders anymore! who lives in a region of the world
where houses are sometimes smaller than other places of the world!
There!
That's much better and non offensive.
They drop it like it’s hot and after seeing his moves, you know damn well that that dog
snags all the bitches!
It was only a matter of time until this clip was remixed, and that is exactly what happened
On October 21, 2016 when the YouTuber Poly Fox uploaded “Dance Till You’re Dead.”
I’d love to explain to you guys what happens in this video, but there’s just some things
that words don’t do justice for.
This video was the spark that created a wildfire that spread and inspired others to create
their own versions of the meme.Everyone from gothic kids to babies have joined in on the
dance till death.
You know, my mind keeps wondering back to the boy and his 4 legged comrade.
Am I the only one who is legitimately curious about what ultimately happened to them?
Did the boy finally get out of the village?
Did he move to new york and join a hip hop dance group.
Did he change his sex and decide to become a white asian bisexual female named glenda
who identifies as a slice of pizza?
And What about the dog?
I'm sure he's famous and in movies or dancing in the circus or….
oh wait…I forgot about dog years…times 7, carry the 3, divide by 18…I'm sorry kids
but the dog is dead.
Kinda gives a whole new meaning to this meme
So there you have it, what started off as an indie rock bands song that had mediocre
success , was later remixed and edited together with comical footage of a dog and a boy dancing
their asses off before eventually spreading to the internet to create a meme people love
and enjoy!!!
But hey!
