Today is just the beginning.
Pasha, a few questions. Firstly,
this was the first time you’ve ever played on stage in The International playoffs, right?
How was it?
Well, it was awesome, obviously.
I’d long been waiting for that moment, for us to get up on that stage and play.
To make sure we’re not eliminated, but instead walk off that stage as winners.
It’s very pleasant and inspiring.
I think you noticed, when you were walking up, that there weren’t that many of our fans in the arena.
How much do you think it can affect the team’s morale?
Is this something you notice or not?
We had a lot of American fans there too, all the time —
basically, after game one, we went to get a little break somewhere,
and there were some brothers with a US flag going “Rah rah, VP!”
So we’re fine in that regard, we have people supporting us.
I also noted that less people were shouting when you walked up,
but after you won, the whole crowd was shouting.
So I think in a week’s time, they’ll be ours.
In one of our recent videos, you did some beatboxing.
Where did such talent come from?
Have you been doing it long? Tell me at least a little.
I don’t know how to beatbox.
When it was fashionable, when it had just emerged, everyone started to like it.
I liked it too, so I tried something for a while,
I even learned how to do it.
And then I realized it was all rubbish, so I stopped,
and now I just do it for laughs.
I think you’re being wily now, but anyway, I liked it a lot.
Today you had this lineup with Omniknight and Crystal Maiden.
It looked like a tribute to the tournament presenters.
No, it’s just that we’d been discussing how Omni could work fabulously at this tournament.
A lot of heroes valued by the Chinese, specifically by LGD.
Omni counters them all, as they’ve only got magic damage.
So we wanted to pick it, and we didn’t even think
of CM and Omni winding up in the same draft.
Yes, the result was cool, but this wasn’t what we had on our minds.
It was a set piece! – [accent banter] “Sit piece”, you have to call it a “sit piece”.
We’re getting suggestions from the audience that it was a set piece.
Audience incoming. – Come on in, Alexey.
I have to ask this, Pasha.
Today, during team introduction, we saw a great Valve video of you doing a reality quest.
Ramzes shouted many times that you were geniuses,
that you were great and he was the smartest one.
Who was really the greatest quester of all? Who contributed the most to winning it?
Well, I was fueling the whole thing big time.
Junior just placed his hand on–
–we had to prove we weren’t robots, these shenanigans are common.
At that point, we were thinking of making signs and such,
and it turned out you just had to place a live hand on some console.
And Junior just put his hand in and sat there for the whole quest.
Then we were told you could touch once, let go when the light turns green, and move on.
But he sat there for the whole quest shouting about being a genius.
Ramzes was definitely the least useful one, and I did all right.
One more thing I wanted to ask.
I’ve just been told that while you’re in America, or while you’re here, anyway,
you keep eating sandwiches, pizza, burgers and heavy food like that.
Is that food you really like, or do you want something else —
what do you really want to eat right now?
A tom yum soup, that’s what I really feel like eating.
I get dizzy thinking about it.
Well, I am dizzy as it is, and I have a headache, it’s normal, I’m sick.
But I’d really appreciate a tom yum right now.
A tom yum, some pills, and then head into battle tomorrow reinvigorated.
Thanks a lot.
Thank you too everybody.
