world. But you know what they say: never meet your heroes, because they're sure to disappoint
you. Unfortunately, some people learned this the hard way. Here's a look at celebrities
who allegedly treat their fans like trash.
Laurence Fishburne
Movie star Laurence Fishburne apparently doesn't like taking time away from his busy life to
acknowledge some of his supporters, at least according to one story posted on the website
Mean Stars about an incident on the set of the 2003 film Mystic River. A former fan wrote,
"We met all of the lead actors except for Laurence Fishburne, and the assistant went
to find him. She discovered that he was in a trailer nearby, so she brought us over to
the trailer and knocked on the door."
Fishburne's response upon learning some high school students wanted to meet him? "Tell
'em to go f--- themselves."
"Wooo Wee!"
William Shatner
One Redditor had the unfortunate experience of dealing with actor William Shatner more
than once, and to hear him tell it, every time was similarly bad. The fan wrote, "I've
dealt with him on film projects, at comic conventions, and on a sponsorship deal, and
he's universally a d**k to everyone. Making volunteers cry, telling fans to pose a certain
way or he won't take their picture, refusing to say even a word to people who paid $100
for an autograph. Just this weekend he was wicked drunk at a convention in San Jose and
humiliated a bunch of volunteers."
"Having received all your letters over the years, and I've spoken to many of you and
some of you have traveled, you know hundreds of miles to be here I'd just like to say Get
a life! Will ya People…"
Megan Fox
Eleven-year-old Harvey Kindlon's heart was shattered by Megan Fox in June 2009 when the
London-native offered the actress a yellow rose at the Transformers premiere. She rebuffed
him, and the moment was caught by paparazzi cameras, earning the raven-haired stunner
a reputation as a real soul-crusher. She later apologized on TV, but never actually met with
the little kid.
"A, I did not know that was a child and B what you don't really see in the picture is there
are like 80 million people there."
Val Kilmer
It seems this Top Gun star's "Iceman" nickname may extend to his fan interactions, too. A
fan posted to Reddit, writing, "Val Kilmer was filming a show in my hood. A small handful
of us were looking on at the set at like 2 a.m. just out of curiosity. No shouting, no
heckling, just folks not used to Hollywood being in town. Val takes it upon himself to
walk over, ask us, 'Don't you people have anything better to do? Isn't there a bar open
somewhere?' and walks back to the set."
"No!"
Robert Pattinson
Notoriously sparkly actor Robert Pattinson has dissed the very fans that made him relevant
and rich. He told Interview magazine "What's really weird about Twilight fans is that they're
not really teenagers. Most of them are older. Twilight has its own fan culture that existed
from day one. And in an intense way that didn't exist before. Sometimes I ask myself what
these masses of people do the whole day. They sit in front of their computers and comment
on anything having even remotely to do with Twilight."
Will Ferrell
Funny guy Will Ferrell is shy and awkward, and that sometimes translates into rudeness
and outright cruelty to fans. A source told Autograph magazine, "He mocks people, taunts
and embarrasses them when they ask for autographs."
Of course, Farrell himself isn't above asking for an autograph when he meets one of his
own personal idols.
"Randy Jackson from American Idol."
"Why do you have Randy Jackson's autograph on a martial arts weapon?"
"Cause I bumped into him and all I had on my was this samurai sword and you're not going not
get Randy Jackson's autograph, right?"
Lea Michele
It's not just regular folks who get snubbed by busy stars, though. It even happens to
other celebrities! Before Hailee Steinfeld became on Oscar nominated actress and pop
star, she had a close encounter of the sad kind with Glee star Lea Michele.
Steinfeld told J-14. "When I was auditioning for True Grit, I was on the Paramount lot.
I was wearing clothes from the 1800s that were big and uncomfortable. Glee also films
on the lot and I love the show, but I haven't really followed it. I saw Lea Michele just
walking to her trailer and I was like, 'That's the girl from Glee. I've got to go ask for
her autograph!' So I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by
and a guy came and said, 'Sorry, now's not a good time!' So I had to walk all the way
back to the car wearing what I was wearing. I was practically crying on the way home.
I was so sad!"
"You can't handle it."
