handheld steamer Yes, I've seen other people use these on television,
but I have never used one and so I'm excited to try this.
So this is the OXA Smart Handheld garment steamer
Ok, so as you can see we still have it in the box so let's open it up
I can't believe that I've never actually tried one of these
I've just used an iron and an ironing board the old-fashioned way which is cumbersome.
Ok, so what does it come with?
It appears to come with the device itself the instruction manual and several different...well
2 different attachments Yeah it says it included 2 brushes
ok yes
ok, before you put the box away, is there anything interesting on there?
we could take a look at the box says it removed wrinkles, germs, cleans
dust and ironing by hot steam it is 1000 watts strong power 20 second quickly
heats steam Yeah, I was actually reading..looking a reviews
for this and it says it heats up in 20 seconds and that is incredibly fast
This is called the long brush and this is called the villus brush
oh, ok!
Why don't you turn the box around so we can take a look at that before you get that out
of the way Ok, it just shows a picture and a brief description
and it is kind of a sleek, interesting-looking steamer, isn't it?
Yes and the cord is very long
you don't have to worry about reaching outlets like so many things where the cord is too
short and you are reaching for an extension cord - that's no good
Ok, so is there an on/off button there?
Yes it is a switch or button underneath the device
Ok, so lets' figure out first how to add the water
So it appears that you add the water over here
ok, there we go so we just added some water you take off the
first big opening here and fill it up and then make
sure it is in there nice and tight so nothing comes out
Ok, that was easy enough so we're going to put the handle back on turn
it on and try it out We found this shirt here....what is that...jersey?
I'm not sure what the fabric is, but anyway it is wrinkled
I don't know whether the camera shows that but it's got big creases in it..the kind of
thing you get, I guess when it's in a basket or in a drawer so we're trying this out for
the first time Ok, it's fairly quiet..makes a little humming
sound Oh Wow!
I don't know if the camera is picking this up, but I can see the creases, wrinkles are
disappearing!
Even though this can be used for travel, I would use it at home most of the time since
I don't like pulling out an ironing board and iron
Either way, it's convenient and saves time I know some people who don't even own an iron
so something like this is essential Wow, it is looking good!
It is working I want to try it with a couple of other garments in a minute
and then when you purchase an item it often has wrinkles in it, especially if you get
it in the mail I think that this would be a great item to
keep at the office when you need to touch up your jacket or other clothing
before an important meeting The instruction manual does have some techniques,
ironing method techniques.
We're just kind of winging it here.
It's working.
It's kind of intuitive really So what we've got next - are you going to
try one of the attachments?
Yeah ok
So I'm going to put this one on now ok, so the first, the first shirt we did without
one of the two attachments - we'll try this now
so I got it on Ok - plug that back in
give it 20 seconds or so so that shirt worked out really well
now I have another shirt and this is a rayon blend
and for the back...turn it around this shirt was worn for a couple of hours
and it's not to where I'm going to wash it again - that's why I said this kind of thing
would be really great at an office - because if you are sitting in your car or sitting
at your desk you get that wrinkled area in the back and the rest of the shirt is clean
and not wrinkled so let's see how it works on that
I just realized that there is a stain on the back of the shirt!
oh well!
Well, for purposes of the demonstration, we'll just pretend that is not there and we are
freshening this up otherwise it is a nice-looking blouse
how is it working over there?
pretty well It looks to me like it's exactly we wanted
which is removing those creases in just a matter of a few seconds
ok, I think that did the job I have something that is 100% cotton and that
wrinkles like crazy every time it is washed I love cotton, but....let's see what happens
Now this is something that I would normally use a regular iron for but if this works,
that is definitely what I will do in the future That is looking great - I would do a little
bit on the sleeves but I can see that it's doing the job
I wish I had one of these a long time ago it would have saved me a lot of time ironing
and a lot of embarrassment from wearing wrinkled clothing!
So another great thing about this I don't know if you know this, Lillian, but you can
use this to sanitize you can remove odors...you can use it on plush toys and I guess on kid's
blankets and things like that There is a thunderstorm going on outside so
I guess we picked a bad time to do this filming but we will continue.
Wow, I actually kind of like the sound of that thunderstorm outside
So, to recap, this is the Oxa handheld portable steamer great for home, office or travel
It heats up quickly and it works great Thanks for watching
It sounds like a Vincent Price movie!
