you've been on perfect roads in perfect weather,
and then one day this happens.
Which is a problem.
But you ride anyway, because you're hard as nails, obviously
And then, then you have an issue
because your bike is now absolutely filthy.
So what are you going to do when the sun comes out tomorrow,
because it will, and you end up
with a bike which feels horrible.
Well you need to clean it obviously, but how do we do it
if you haven't anything to clean it with?
Think we need a mission.
Firstly to the supermarket.
Oh god, it's raining!
Run!
I'm melting.
Ahhh!
If you remember high performance.
Washing-up liquid.
Wet wipes. Possible cleaning hack.
When it comes to sponges size matters.
But these might do.
Sponges, wet wipes and washing-up liquid still not enough
to clean a bike properly so we need to go somewhere else.
Unfortunately we couldn't get everything at the supermarket,
so we have come to a hardware shop,
which kind of feels like cheating, but we need a clean bike.
Bucket.
Right, we're gonna go clean some, well, bikes.
I'm only going to clean one
and everybody else can clean their own.
Well the first step was hopefully goingg to be my cheating
short cut which was the wet wipe,
my Italian is not terribly good
slash non-existent and so I imagine now
that I have probably bought the extra sensitive,
incredibly mild added moisturising,
basically not very effective.
And life is too short to do this so
I think I'm just going to rock out the big guns.
So to speak.
Oh don't worry by the way these will not go to waste.
Lloydy will find a use they can take his make up off
at the end of a GCN shoot.
Well we've got four averagely clean chain links now
but I think we need to step it up a gear so
washing-up liquid, bucket, very very hot water.
Never fails.
Right, usual five minute bike wash technique applies now.
Basically get the frame, get the wheels,
nice soapy, just start scrubbing.
I can't recommend using the scourer on your frame.
Just get grease marks off nicely.
I know you've been missing this.
It's not bad is it?
Hey
I could potentially leave it out in this rain
and it would wash off all the soap suds,
but that feels a little bit slack.
So going to put some clean cold water in there
give the bike a rinse, then we're good to go.
Right I've got hot water in.
It is that cold.
Well there you go then, clean as a whistle,
sharp as a thistle and tip top condition ready to
for when the sun comes out tomorrow,
because it will come out.
And all the bits and bobs to do this we found in a
local supermarket in a mountain town,
in Alta-Badia in Italy that's not too bad.
Do make sure you get stuck in the comment section
down here, if you have any tips, cleaning hacks
or you did just want to get stuck in
because there is one obviously incredibly controversial
ingredient in that bucket right there.
