>> First of all, you'd sign up just because that cast has got to be so
fun to work with anyway.
>> Yeah.
>> But then on top of it to be so
successful that everyone enjoyed it that's just icing on the cake.
>> We can't believe how big it went.
>> Yeah.
>> We can believe it because that was the goal we set out to make.
>> Yeah. >> A big, huge R rated, female driven,
comedy hit.
But the fact the everybody came out and rocked with us and saw it again,
we just couldn't be happier.
>> Yeah, so, there will be a sequel, because anything that successful,
people are already writing that sequel, right?
>> There got's to be a sequel. >> Yeah.
>> You wanna sequel?
>> [APPLAUSE] >> The people have spoken.
>> Yeah. >> Definitely.
>> Yeah.
>> [APPLAUSE] >> We're definitely lobbying for it.
>> So you spent, was that in the summer or no, you finished that awhile ago.
What did you do this summer?
>> I just kind of hung out, I was working a lot so
I didn't really get to take a vacation really.
I just hung out in the backyard at my mom's house and swam in the pool.
>> Yeah. >> And just kicked it with
the family on my days off. >> And your mom,
you're close with your mom?
>> Very close to my mom.

>> Did she love Girl's Trip?
>> She loved the idea of Girl's Trip.
>> [LAUGH] >> [LAUGH] She didn't actually see it yet.
[LAUGH] She sees everything but she hasn't actually seen it yet but
she's seen everything around it.
She knows everything about Girl's Trip.
>> Does she not wanna?
Is she scared to see it?
>> No no, she's gonna see it.
They're gonna bring it to the house so she can see it.
>> I see. >> She's just casually taking
her time to see it.
I'm like, Ma but she did call me like, hey.
She called me on Facetime, which she rarely uses.
>> Mm-hm.
>> She was like, how about that 100 million, baby?
I was like thank you Ma, so she knows we broke the bank with that part.
>> Yeah, that's what she cares about is that, that means something for her.
>> [LAUGH] >> Yep.
>> She knows she's gonna get a little something for that.
>> Yeah, that she do, gotta peel her off a little something.
>> Are you just gonna focus on acting now?
Are you gonna do music or what's happening?
>> No, I never seem to focus on just one thing.
>> Yeah.
>> One thing at a time but I got new music coming out, and
I can't wait to share it with the world.
It's so much music that it's not just one album, so I got a jazz album and then
I have hip hop, and then I have eclectic things that are not in either category.
But you'll get it, I`m going to start.
>> Hey, wait. >> Releasing some stuff next month.
>> You started as a rapper, and we know you do that, but you have a great voice,
you're a great singer too, so it's great to hear you do different genres.
>> Yeah, tore down the Pomona County Fair, yesterday.
>> Yeah. >> It was nothing.
>> Really? >> Me and Patti LaBelle,
we just did our thing.
>> I see, that's what you did.
>> That's how we do it, keep the cold shoulder open so you get,
that's what that is for.

>> Nah, but people have been asking me, so
I got to give it to them.
With the hip-hop, I'm definitely going to tap into some of the issues of today.
But with positivity, because there's so much negativity,
I feel like I'm at war with negativity?
>> Mm-hm. >> And my only way to combat it is to be
positive, to really just make positive music,
make stuff that makes you feel good about yourself and others and love.
We gotta put that out there because we got so much boo.
>> Yeah.
>> In the world and I'm going, yay.
>> Yeah, that's what l we want, yeah.
>> We'll turn that bad boy like that.
