Jinder Mahal On His Future The Shield’s reunion, over three years in
the making; the coming together of Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins after the latter
stabbed his brothers in the back.
It’s the sort of story you only get to tell once, so thankfully they didn’t reunite
against the cataclysmic threat of… the Miztourage.
The Shield’s first opponents in over three years will instead be the far more substantial
threat of The Miz (current Intercontinental Champion), Cesaro and Sheamus (former Tag
Team Champions) and Braun Strowman (current Beating Up Inanimate Objects Champion).
Which, to steal a Braun-ism, is good competition.
But Jinder Mahal has just come up with something much better: it’s the Three Man Band!
Before his release in 2014, Jinder was part of beloved jobbed faction 3MB with Heath Slater
and Drew McIntyre.
While Slater never left WWE - the man’s got kids, after all - Drew was also released
in 2014, where he became one of the independent scene’s hardest workers, and was then brought
back to become NXT Champion.
When asked about a 3MB vs Shield match, Mahal told Sportskeeda:
“You know what?
Someday, definitely.
Not right now.
I'm doing my own thing; Drew's doing his own thing, as the NXT Champion, and I'm waiting
for Heath Slater to beat Brock Lesnar and become the Universal Champion…
You might see The Shield vs. 3 MB someday.”
It may not be the serious answer we all want, though, as the article does describe Jinder’s
response as “laughs loudly”.
Along with saying “Absolutely I think I can” about beating CM Punk’s 434-day title
reign record - Jinder’s currently stands at 140 - Mahal also revealed his dream opponent
for Wrestlemania 34: current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
If F4WOnline are to be believed, he won’t have to wait that long.
Brock Lesnar Vs. Jinder Mahal At Survivor Series?
Dave Meltzer is reporting that the Survivor Series main event is currently planned to
be Raw’s top champion facing Smackdown’s top champion in a non-title match… meaning
Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.
This will be the second consecutive Survivor Series that Lesnar has main evented, with
2016’s pay-per-view being headlined by his brief loss to the returning Goldberg.
Cage Side Seats are reporting a rumor that after the Jinder match, Lesnar will go onto
feud with Finn Balor.
Jinder Mahal India Tour Opponent Revealed The Survivor Series plans are presumably in
part to make Jinder feel like an even bigger deal during his homecoming tour of India on
the 8th and 9th December.
WWE want to effectively monetize the country - with them launching WWE Shop there earlier
this year, and hiring someone to specifically oversee expansion in the region.
And now, to make Jinder appeal even more to Indian fans, Mahal has announced he’ll be
defending his WWE title on the tour, against Smackdown wrestler Kevin Owens - despite this
being an otherwise Raw-branded event.
It seems while wrestling as a heel elsewhere, Jinder will work as a babyface against the
evil KO in India.
The irony is, they’re both actually from the same country - Canada.
This suggests Mahal isn’t losing the Championship before then, which the non-title Survivor
Series match against Lesnar would support.
But is Jinder Mahal actually injured?!
And what’s the real reason John Cena never turned heel?!
