-Two. -"Boo 2."
-"Boo 2," baby. -"Boo 2"!
"Boo 2! A Madea Halloween."
I loved the first one, the "Madea Halloween."
´Cause it´s based off of kind of a joke
in a Chris Rock movie. -Total Chris Rock joke.
In "Top Five," he has -- -In his movie.
Yeah, a spoof of a movie called "Boo! A Madea Halloween."
There was a line around the corner,
going to see the "Boo!" Madea movie.
And he had done this movie about some slave revolt,
and nobody was in the line.
So when Lionsgate saw it, they go,
"Man, you got to do that movie."
I´m like, "I´m not doing that."
-This is for real. -This really happened.
So I wrote the first one, and then I did this one.
But what´s so perfect about the first one and this one --
the timing. The country needs to laugh, man.
That´s why I want to thank you for what you do every night.
The country just needs to laugh. [ Cheers and applause ]
We need a good laugh. -We do.
-Especially right now. -We need a good laugh.
-And this is a good 100 minutes of just sitting there, laughing,
doing nothing for your mind. It´s a silly movie.
Don´t expect "Schindler´s List."
Just go in there and have a good time.
Just go in there and have a good time.
-It´s not an award picture. No.
-I don´t think Oscar´s gonna be calling for this one.
I really don´t.
-But this, it just -- It really is unbelievably funny.
-Thank you, thank you.
-And as we were talking about earlier,
I can´t even imagine you directing anyone
dressed as Madea. -Yeah.
-´Cause it´s just so funny, man. -And I´m a big dude, too.
-I know. Stand up. How tall are you?
-Yeah, I´m standing over them like, yeah.
I´m 6´6". Like, "Yeah, move over there."
-Wow. Yeah, I´ll move right over there.
That´s -- [ Cheers and applause ]
-Yeah, no, it´s -- It´s pretty scary, man.
But there have been sightings of women who look like Madea.
-Oh, really? -I´m telling you, man.
I see pictures of them.
They send them to me online.
I saw this woman at the bus stop,
and I´m looking, like, "Whoa! She really does exist."
[ Laughter ]
-It´s a real character.
-It´s like spotting Bigfoot, man.
I´m serious. -Do you think they become you?
-No, I´ve seen them when I was growing up,
but I thought they were extinct.
[ Laughter ]
So now they´re still around, man.
I´ll send you some pictures.
-I want to hear the story one time --
Because you do a scene, and then sometimes you have to,
you know, wait for -- to reset the lighting.
-Set up the lights, and, yeah.
-It takes like an hour, two hours
before you can even shoot any more stuff.
-No, no. Takes about 15, 20 minutes,
because, you know, I´ve done both these movies
in like five days each, so I don´t have hours of setup.
You don´t get that kind of time with me.
When I´m in a costume, man, I´m not happy.
So they were setting up, and like, okay, and I was tired.
It´s 3:00 in the morning.
So we get in the Cadillac, and I drive off the lot.
And we´re driving through the neighborhood.
3:00 in the morning, no brake tag,
no driver´s license, I´m dressed like Madea,
I got Hattie and Bam in the car.
I was like, "Man, let me go back to the studio,
´cause if I get pulled over and the police stop me,
this mug shot on TMZ is gonna be horrible."
[ Laughter ] "It´s gonna be horrible."
It was so funny, though, man.
I mean, that would really be a classic moment.
-Classic moment that I don´t ever want to have.
-No. All right. Let´s talk about "Boo 2!"
It´s so funny.
It´s scary, but it´s perfect for Halloween right now.
-Yeah.
-Is there any setup to it at all?
It´s a camp. -No.
-No. -No, no.
It´s -- It´s this campsite where these kids are partying,
and Madea´s going there to try to find her granddaughter,
and when she gets there, all kinds of little scary things
are happening, and it just makes for a lot of fun.
Lot of fun. -I love it, I love it.
I want to show a clip. Here´s Tyler Perry.
-Yeah, show a clip! Show a clip!
[ Cheers and applause ]
-As Madea. -As Madea.
-In Tyler Perry´s "Boo!" -"Boo 2!"
-"Boo 2! A Madea Halloween."
-Take a look at this here.
[ Laughter ]
-Where the hell they going?
-I don´t know, and I don´t give a damn where he at.
We need a phone. -We don´t have reception!
[ All screaming ]
-Why are you screaming?! -You scared me!
-Who the hell alls in here with y´all?
-Me, and... -Jonathan.
-It´s your boy. -And me.
-Ma, look! -What is it?
-Oh, they got my baby now!
Joe. They got ´em all.
You not gonna go out there to help your brother?
-Well, he dead now.
We´ll look for him in the daylight.
Praise the Lord. -If he dead now,
what the hell we got to look for him for in the morning?
-You know what? That´s right.
When you´re dead, it don´t matter.
We´ll let Jesus find him when he come.
Praise him!
[ Cheers and applause ]
-It´s just joke, joke, joke. It´s so good.
