Lots of congratulations for you there.
And cheers -- Oh, we don't have any eggnog for you.
-Oh! -Want some?
-What are you looking at? What happened?
-No, you look great. -I can get it.
Want me to get it? -Oh, yeah, please!
[ Laughter ]
-'Tis the season.
-He's gonna get eggnog for you.
Does he know where he's going?
He doesn't have to -- We can have someone --
Ah, whatever, he's gone.
Oh, he's back. He's gone.
-Is there any brandy in the eggnog?
-Uh, no.
[ Laughter ] -Cool, cool, cool.
-Yeah. Oh. -Oh!
Oh, wow. Oh, thank you so much.
-Yeah. Michael, that was -- that was fantastic.
Look at that. Look at that.
[ Cheers and applause ]
This is great!
-The right call. -Look at how much fun!
Congratulations. -Wow.
-Just settle in. -Just settle in.
This is it right here.
-Wow. Cheers.
-Cheers to everybody here.
Congrats on everyone's success. -Merry Christmas.
-Merry Christmas, everybody. -Merry Christmas.
And happy Hanukkah!
Happy Hanukkah.
-Happy Hanukkah, as well, everybody.
Alison, you've got to be so excited about this.
What a year. You came out for "GLOW,"
and we were talking about "GLOW."
We showed the clip, and everyone was like --
I mean, almost a standing ovation from the clip.
And I go, "Man, this is just gonna be your year."
You're gonna get awards for this. And boom, boom, boom.
Every nomination -- so good.
But I also love that you're excited about it.
-I'm so excited about it.
-And you're happy and you care about these things.
-Oh, my God!
I just -- I love working on the show so much,
and all the women I work with are so amazingly supportive,
and it's just like I just -- [ Laughs ]
You leave it all on the floor for this show.
It's so exciting.
-You were saying you were with your husband --
-Yes! Well, when I found out about -- Sorry.
It was, like, such amazing timing,
finding out about the Golden Globe nomination
because I was already up at 5:00 in the morning
to go to work for season two of "GLOW,"
and I was running out of the house.
I was late and I ran into the bedroom.
He was -- I thought he was still asleep,
but he actually had his phone on
and was watching the nominations live streaming
and he was like, "The Golden Globe nominations,"
I was like, "Oh, I don't have time. I got to go."
Sat down on the bed, gave him a kiss,
and as we pulled apart,
Sharon Stone said my name.
-Yes!
[ Cheers and applause ]
That's it! That's when you know!
What's happening? I love you.
-We just froze, and then we just screamed, like...
-Jumped up and down. That's the best.
Well, we have a clip of when you got to the set
to work on "GLOW" season two.
Here's you and your costars. Look at this.
[ Screaming ]
[ Cheers and applause ]
-That's what you want is someone to have fun
and enjoy what we're doing.
-So much love. -Look at you!
I mean, you're wearing antlers on "The Tonight Show."
-I don't even care! -You are the best.
We love you. We love you. We love you.
Now let's talk about "The Post."
-Yeah! -Because here comes this film,
also "The Disaster Artist." -Yeah.
-Congratulations on that. -Thank you.
-You're busy, busy, busy,
but "The Post." This is Meryl Streep.
This is Tom Hanks. This is Steven Spielberg.
-It's crazy.
It's still like a surreal fever dream
that it happened.
-How was Meryl Streep?
-Oh, my God! -Yeah.
-Obviously, totally incredible. -Pro.
-Yeah, I mean, and so gracious and wonderful.
I think probably my nerves reached their height
when I was on set. Before I started shooting,
I was out there just for a fitting,
and I had just been excited to have the role
and it hadn't totally sunk in, I think,
until I was just watching Meryl perform a scene
where she's talking about her late husband
and it's very dramatic, and every take is different
and incredible in, like --
and I'm sitting by Spielberg,
and Spielberg is floored.
He's like, "Oh, my God, it's Meryl Streep."
[ Laughter ]
And that's when I was like, "[Bleep]
It's Meryl [bleep] Streep."
-There's a couple words you can't say on TV.
-It's Meryl Streep. -Streep.
-That's the word -- You can't say that.
Thank you, Michael.
You can't say that. -Oh, sorry.
But she couldn't have been sweeter.
She was amazing. -Of course.
What is the film about? Can you explain it to everyone?
-Yes, the film is about the historical decision
made by The Washington Post to publish the Pentagon Papers
after The New York Times received an injunction
and about Meryl Streep as Catherine Graham
sort of coming into her own as the publisher
of The Washington Post at that time.
Very unique to have a woman in that position of power
and so just her sort of struggling with her position
and making this decision, along with her editor-in-chief
Ben Bradlee, played by Tom Hanks.
I play her daughter in the film,
her loving, supportive daughter.
