Hi, I'm Amy from the Savvy Sexy Social Channel, and this Master Class is all
about H"ow to Vlog". In this video we're gonna talk about how to start
collaborating. I often hear from my fellow creators that it's tough to start
collaborating when you don't know a lot of people, you don't have as many
subscribers as that many people, and I can understand that struggle. It makes
you feel like you can't even collaborate when you're waiting for something to
happen in order for you to be able to collaborate. But, I have great news! You
actually don't have to wait. You can start right now. So today we're going to
talk about a couple of ways for you to start collaborating that don't mean you
have to get on a plane or live in Los Angeles. The first tip is to do a remote
collab. We have this beautiful thing called the cloud now, where you can
actually upload your files and share them with others. In doing so, you can
actually do an incredible video even if they're not in the same room as you.
Simply working with them on an idea -"What are we gonna do on your channel? What are
we gonna do on my channel?" - and planning it out so that you can record your
pieces and then swap, so you can edit them in together, is a great way to do a
remote collab. One example that I did of this was my
500 video anniversary, and I was like "it's my 500th video, I feel like everyone
should celebrate with me". And I simply asked a bunch of people for really short
video clips that I could include in my video, which ultimately ended up in a
really long awesome video, that I only had to do a little bit of work on. Another example of a collab you could do right
now is what I call the "Bold collab". Think about somebody who might be like the
dream to work with. "Oh, if only I had so many subscribers. If only I had their
email address. I feel like it would be a great collaboration". One example that I
have done in this case is reviewing someone's book. But I wanted to stand out,
there were a lot of people reviewing a book by an author, and so I thought I'm
gonna do musical book review of this book. And by
doing so, I really got the attention of somebody I didn't necessarily have the
email address of, and I was able to get a little bit more exposure on my brand
because I showed why I could align what I'm doing with what they're talking
about. This is a really, really great way to collab, because it goes hand-in-hand
with talking about what's trending. By relating yourself to a topic or to a
person's methodology, you give yourself an opportunity to get in front of their
audience. And that is a bold way to collaborate. No matter what the
collaboration you do, across the board your collaboration should be a
reflection of what the audience wants. It's not all about numbers, it's not all
about what's viral, it is about what your community cares about. And if you can
make something relevant to them, and how they better their life, or are more
entertained, then that is an amazing opportunity to collaborate. I would love
to hear what creative ways you have collaborated in the past - leave that in a
comment below, and thank you so much for tuning in to this Master Class on how to
vlog and successfully collaborate. I look forward to seeing you over on my channel.
