Kate, "Ferdinand" is in theaters December 15th.
This is based on the children's book,
"Ferdinand," which I love so much.
-Beautiful tale. A classic tale.
-Did you know this book growing up?
Do you know this book? -Pfft!
Did I know "Ferdinand"? I did, yes.
-Okay, good. Yeah, okay, good. -I was familiar.
It's basically -- Well, if you don't know
the story of "Ferdinand," it's just, people want him
to be a fighter, and he's just a bull
that wants to smell flowers, and it's really cute.
Yeah, he doesn't want to fight. I love it so much.
And you play Lupe the calming goat.
-Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
-Now, when they asked you to play Lupe the calming goat,
what'd you -- -Sure.
I said, "Yes." Well, I said --
I mean, obviously, I said, "Yes."
I ended up in the movie, but I think --
They said, "It's a calming goat who's not very good
at being a calming goat,
and wants to be like a coach instead
and has, like, too much energy to be a calming goat."
[ Light laughter ]
And I was like, "Okay, I got it. Yeah, I know what that is."
And I just feel like I relate to goats, 'cause, like...
-Excuse me? -...they're scruffy,
and they scream like men, as we already established,
and they eat garbage and...
-Yeah, but you don't eat garbage.
[ Laughter ]
-I don't? -No, I don't think you do, no.
-I do sometimes. I have eaten gar--
I sometimes eat garbage. -What are you talking about?
-It's not that I eat -- I don't eat gar--
-What are you talking --
What are you remotely talking about?
-I eat from the garbage. [ Laughter ]
-You eat from the garbage? -Yes.
-Really? -Well, my thing is --
-For real?
-Unless the food has touched other garbage, it's not garbage.
[ Laughter ]
It's just in there. [ Cheers and applause ]
-What?! Other people have done that?
-No, they know, they know! They're not wasteful, either.
For instance -- Okay, so, I was at work the other week.
I was in the office that I share with Aidy Bryant.
Hi, babe.
And I had eaten half a scone, and I was like,
"I think that's enough."
So I put it back in the bag, and I put it in the garbage.
Fine. She came in, we started talking,
about an hour went by.
I thought, "Eh, I would like the rest."
[ Laughter ]
So from her perspective,
she just saw me, out of nowhere...
[ Laughter ]
...reach into the can and start eating.
-And continue the conversation.
-And continue the -- And she was like --
She was like, "Kate, you've eaten garbage."
And I was like, "It's not garbage until it goes outside.
It's just food in a plastic bin, waiting to be eaten."
-"Waiting to be eaten." I don't know about this.
You're super cute in the movie.
You and John Cena have great chemistry.
