Let's see how to make tilache ladoo today. Let's begin with the ingredients.
3/4 cups white sesame seeds, 1/2 cup regular jaggery. You can use chikkicha gul if you want.
If you are using chikkicha gul then you can use 1/4 cup chikkicha gul and 1/4 cup regular gul.
Or you can use chikkicha gul only. 1/4 cup raosted peanut powder, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tbsp milk.
To begin with roast the sesame seeds. Heat up a pan on medium heat. Add sesame seeds in the pan
Roast evenly on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes until sesame seeds get nice golden color. Do not roast on high heat at all.
Sesame seeds should be evenly roasted. I have roasted sesame seeds evenly on medium heat for about 7-8 minutes.
These have got nice golden color. Let's keep the pan aside. Take another pan. I forgot to tell ghee while telling you ingredients.
We will require 1 tbsp ghee. Add gudh in the pan. You can either chop or great the gudh. Cook gudh for about 3-4 minutes.
Gudh must be properly melted. Gudh is nicely melted. I have cooked gudh really good on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes.
Add 1 tbsp milk in it and mix well. Why milk? This is not chikkicha gudh. This is regular yellow gudh.
And that gudh doesn't have nice binding. If we melt gudh and add other ingredients then it doesn't get nice binding.
I have added a tbsp milk to get nice binding. Cook the syrup really good for about 2-3 minutes after adding milk.
After about 2-3 minutes turn off the gas. Add cardamom powder and mix quickly. Add roasted sesame seeds and roasted peanut powder.
Mix everything well quickly. When the mixture is properly mixed then rub a little ghee to your palms. Take a spoonful mixture
Take another spoon. The mixture is too hot. You hands may burn. Give mixture shape of ladoo by transferring it from one spoon to other
So that the hot steam in it will escape. Cool it down a little and then take the mixture in hand and make ladoo.
When a little steam escapes then your hands won't burn. You can roll the ladoo properly. Follow this process when the mixture is hot.
Or later it will br difficult to roll ladoo. You can not roll ladoo properly. Try to use 2 spoons.
It is not necerssary to burn your hands and make nice ladoo. If we work smartly then this tedious process can be simplified.
Take a little mixture into spoons and give it shape of ladoo by transferring for one spoon to other. This process helps to reduce the heat.
Then take the mixture in hand and quickly roll the ladoo. Your hands won't burn at all if you follow this process.
I do remember our moms tell that may your hands burn but you have to roll the ladoo when the mixture is hot. It's okay.
