also known as Rockstar. On Lift this strain is a 4.5 out of 5.
Aphria breaks their large flower into smaller pieces so don't expect large
chunks like you might get from other producers. All the buds are similar in
size, from about the size of a popped kernel of corn to the size of cherry tomato,
so everything's very consistent. When I got the Mohawk, I opened it up and I
found that the flower was drier than I prefer to have it, so I put it in my
humidor for 7 days to rebalance the moisture levels. I really like the look
of them; they're very consistent, tight. They're all about the same size and the
reason that Aphria does that, according to them, is so that all the buds get
cured at an even level. It can be quite dense. I'm having a hard time
pulling this apart; it's a tight nug. And that's why they break it all up.
They don't want moisture to develop in here and any mold or mildew. If you have
a magnifier glass you can get up really close and check in; you can see the gland
heads that develop. I've always found that this is not the most pungent Rock
Star I've had. It does have a slight grassy smell to it but the kushy
undertones are very present. It's got a nice earthy smell, light citrus, and the
first time that I consumed this as medicine, this batch I squished.
I took a rosin clamp and I squished it out. Basically it's a heat press method
to squish out all of the active oils inside of the plant material. And then I
vaporized it. First impression was that it was surprisingly sweet for what
I was expecting. That could be that the terpenes that came across when I first
pressed it, they were more prominent on the sweet side and I found that had a
nice kushy flavour. The terpene profiles that are probably the most dominant for
me in Mohawk are the myrcene and the limonene. As a medical patient, I
gravitate towards the strain more as opposed to others, is I enjoy the
limonene with the kush flavours, so that's the
myrcene and limonene dominantly, with some low levels of caryophyllene. The medical
benefits that I found from Mohawk include it's very sedative. It helps with
pain management. I found it to be a mild appetite stimulant which I found to be
great because I have issues with appetite. It is a great price for high
value THC under $9 with a great terpene profile. It's very effective medicine. I
will use the strain any time that I need a good sedative painkiller. Some
people restrict that use to the evening. I need that sometimes to get to
breakfast. In terms of recreational use, Rockstar / Mohawk is a great strain. I
would recommend it because it's a high THC, so you'll definitely get a good bang
for your buck. It's got a great flavour so it should be enjoyable to consume. The
reason why I have sought it out so often is because of all the positive effects
that I've had from it. You get a great high from it and it's really nice and
relaxing which can be great in certain social situations. I'd recommend this to
users that are in the area between beginner and intermediate. it is a great
strain to step up from your intermediary strains. It is a great first high THC
strain. As always I would recommend to start low and go slow,
as with any cannabis product. But it is a great intermediary product as you step
up to a more and more high potent and advanced product.
