I attempted to come to you today in boy mode. I'm not feeling like it's
working mostly because I really need a haircut
look at this. my hair is almost long enough that I can like put it in a
little teeny-weeny little man bun. I felt it was appropriate to come to you in my
attempt at trans masculinity sometime since we are gonna be talking about a book...
TWO! things that have trans masc characters in them which... Have I mentioned on my
channel that I'm non-binary and that I think of myself as a boy a lot more than
I think of myself as a girl? my voice is extraordinarily feminine so if I just
don't open my mouth maybe you'll be able to see the boy in me but uh... gender is
weird you guys. it's really weird. I'm going to be reviewing
"No Rulebook for Flirting" by Laura Bailo. I believe that's how you say that. I was having a moment
and I was sad and having gender feels so I asked Twitter if they could recommend
a like fluffy romance with a trans masc character and Twitter gave me two really
great suggestions. One I'm going to link below. It is a short story that is on
Wattpad and the author was like, "I wrote this if you want to read it!" It's
adorable! Like if you hav, I don't know, 10 minutes and you just want to
read something that is super sweet and fluffy and cute and just be full of warm
fuzzies... You should go read this! it's called how "I loved Alex" it is by Benji
the writer. there will be a link down below. this has been out since 2016 and
39 people have read it, four people have liked thumbs-upped it. (I don't know how
wattpad works) and I'm the only comment . it's such a cute story you guys. go read it
please. it needs some love. okay that's not what
we're reviewing today. we are reviewing no rulebook for flirting. so this book is
set in like a gaming convention. it revolves around the board game room.
which, if you've ever been to nerd convention... they usually have a big
open area where there's like board games on shelves and you can borrow them and
sit down with people and play games and meet people you don't know
start games that you've never played before it's just like a nice community
gaming experience so these two guys have a bad first meeting one of them stills
the other ones parking spot and they're you know
bickering with each other they meet again on the gaming field and they're
flirting is sort of a very aggressive competitive banter which is really cute
and they play a bunch of games together and they find that they really like each
other and they don't want the day to end so you know they start it spending more
time together and going out I think the whole book takes place over
like four days but it's very short and it's sweet and it's super cute I gave it
four stars on Goodreads the one star it's missing is because if you're not
familiar with a lot of the board games that they played you're gonna get a
little lost and also sometimes the banter between the characters can be a
little bit much most of the book is just these two bantering so if you don't like
books that are just kind of a ton of dialogue you're gonna be a little bit
bored but it is a great read and it's really short I think I've read it in an
hour but I was also like having feelings and so I was just kind of wanting to be
absorbed in a happy fluffy book and that's exactly what this is so if you
like adorable fluff and you want that fluff to be gay read this book and also
read that short story that I mentioned links to both will be down below and it
feels very weird to have a video this short most of my videos are so long it
takes so long to edit I'm like uncomfortable with how short this is
like I didn't go off on any tangents this is thus weird
