on alpha called the Motherlode. All the players in here like myself were going
in blind and had never ran this before. So once again a like the Tol Dagor dungeon
you start off on a beach and make your way up a ramp in to the first set of mobs.
Now I have to say I love how this dungeon looks, I love the mechanical, scrap metal
and industrial kind of feel it gives off. It really does give you the vibe that you
are in a dungeon occupied by Engineers. Now on your way to the first boss you have
to deal with a small amount of trash, that can prove problematic if like us you did not
know what can happen, the trash packs have enemies that will run off and activate the
big Bioshock looking Mechs if not stopped, so if you can, stun or nuke down those adds
first. I couldn't tell when the mech became active
if it buffed the adds or not but just be aware of that.
So the 1st boss you encounter is the Coin - Operated Crowd Pummeler, who is just a boss
version of the mechs you have been facing doing the trash.
He is pretty easy boss to deal with from a tanking perspective, just try and keep him
in a fixed position. He will knock everyone back with his static
pulse ability, so it's just a matter of repositioning yourself.
He will launch bombs towards players and they will explode after a period of time, however
you can kick them back towards the boss to cause him additional damage.
As the tank dodge the shocking claw ability as if it hits you it will stun you.
Just reapeat this process for each ability and the boss will go down quick easily.
Now on your way to the second boss you once again have to fight your way through a area
populated with trash and this trash is dangerous and can kill you quite easily if your not
careful, due to the fact that a large amount can be agroed quite easily when dodging the
various abilities such as stuns and especially the bombs that they drop.
Trash does seem to be a big thing that people are going to have to get used to and really
pay attention to, especially when you start doing these on a mythic plus level.
I'll be honest and say I think the trash in these dungeons now are more difficult than
the actual bosses. As a lot of these places are going to be problematic
and a absolute nightmare when certain affixes such as Teeming and Fortified for example
are in play. I get the feeling that blizzard really wants
us to use and utalize our CC abilities a lot more as some of the trash has a very big agro
range and does do a heck of a lot of damage, so this will really need to be used.
After heading up the Ramp you reach the 2nd boss Azerokk.
On a side note pay attention to the totems to the left.
Now I did not realise at first that this was actually the boss, so I hit what turned out
to be one of the adds of the boss, which of coursed pulled him, so I tanked him in the
middle. Try to keep him facing away from the group
so they don't get hit with the bosses quake ability.
I noticed I could not get any agro or threat on the adds so they seem to need to be kited
by whoever is being targeted or cc with slows or stuns, but they did not pose much of a
threat for the Dps at least at this difficulty. After the dungeon i did read up on the boss
abilities and as I said just a minute ago about the totems, if you click on to them
you will pick up an ability to be able stun the adds for 1 min, so don't forget to do
that. Other than that is was just a simple kill
everything asap kinda fight.
After the boss you Jump in to the mine cart to avoid the mines and roll down to the bottom
of the hill. At the bottom you once again have to fight
your way through more trash and I have to say the trash here really hurts.
So use cc's and make sure you focus those mastermind adds down first as they do a lot
of damage. You now reach the 3rd boss Rixxa Fluxflame
(You need to be careful how you say that) and this boss was really easy and kind of
dull at least at this difficulty level. She seems to target a random player with a
spray and you just need to move out of the patches left on the floor.
I'm not sure if the patches are supposed to be fire and maybe just the animations to show
this are not yet complete as the boss abilities listed mention leaving fire on the floor so
that could be the case, either way just dont stand in it.
Just simply move away when the boss targets you and you should be fine.
This could be more difficult at higher level if the room fills up and you run out of places
to stand, but at this level just nuke her down and she will die quite quickly.
So now on your way to the final boss you have to fight your way through the final set of
trash and imo the trash has got more problematic the further you have progressed and these
trash packs are no different. Some of these mobs do a knock back ability
so be careful of that. You will notice a lot of mines on the ground
and as you naturally move around them so as not to trigger them, they pop up out of the
ground and seem to target a random player and if they hit you then they do a lot of
damage, so you need to try and kill them asap or maybe have the tank try to intercept the
mine and soak the hit. This kinda also stops you from skipping mobs
and again this could prove deadly on mythic plus.
So once you have cleared all of the trash you will reach the final boss Mogul Razzdunk,
who looks a lot like the mimiron head. I thought this was a pretty cool and interesting
fight. As a tank I just tanked him in the centre,
he targets a random player with a homing missile which puts a big circle around that player,
that particular player just needs to run away from the group and let the missile hit them
and everybody else needs to make sure that they are out of the circle.
Another ability he does is the gatling gun he will just start firing from a certain direction
and rotate around firing in a clockwise or anti clockwise direction, as long as you are
not in front of the boss then this poses no real threat.
When the boss moves in his next phase, I think it's a half health move out of the swirly
circles that appear on the floor. You will notice large explosive barrels will
appear here, but first focus down the adds that spawn, until the boss will reappears,
when he does reappear he will have a shield around him.
A random player will be targeted by an arrow, when you are targeted you need to move over
and stand next to one of the barrels. This will destroy part of the shield do this
3 times to remove it. After that he will just cycle through his
previous abilities and you should be able to kill him off quite quickly.
This dungeon run took us about 30 mins to complete with about 4 wipes all from trash,
which is pretty long for a normal dungeon. I did personally think this was a super fun
dungeon that will no doubt be very challenging at higher levels, but I'm not to sure how
people will feel about the amount of trash you have to deal with now, as it seems to
be a big focus in some of these dungeons. Anyways guys what do you think of this place
have you tried it yourself ? Please comment like share and subscribe and
I'll see you next time.
