hey welcome back to the channel today I'm going to show you how to replicate
some of the continuity features in iOS with both iOS and Android on both
Windows and Mac using AirDroid so here we go so if you don't know what
continuity is it's a feature of iOS and Mac OS that lets you control certain
aspects of your phone from your PC and lets them interact together now I'm not
going to be able to replicate all these features but a good deal of them we're
gonna be able to do with AirDroid so let's jump right into it alright so once
you get the application loaded on your phone all you do is launch it on your PC
or your Mac launch AirDroid and it's gonna come up with your login go ahead
and type in your username and password
and then it should be connected to whatever devices are on your network the
Weisse list here it'll show you which devices are nearby and then you can
select which one you want to interact with so this first screen is information
about your account it shows you your name and the email address that it's
registered with and how much of your quota you used and going through the
menus here is the file transfer it looks like just a just like a browser on your
computer but this is actually the file system that's on the mobile device so if
we go in to say you wanted to copy some pictures over you go into your camera
and then just select a picture that you want and then just hit the download
button select your location and it'll save the file to that location you can
also send files to the device from your computer this is one of my favorite
features being able to copy the files so easily to and from your phone sometimes
I use my phone as a recording device for my videos and I can just pull them off
wirelessly I don't have to hook it up to the computer and copy them over it's
really convenient I'm gonna skip past this because there's a bunch of options
that are built-in in one here so let's get past that for now this is your
notification so as you receive notifications on your phone they'll show
up in this notification list just like they would on the notification area of
your phone the notification works great it pops up in the corner just like it
you would expect you can click on it or just go right into AirDroid and see all
your note so you don't have to pull your phone out
and check it constantly this is all your text messages that you have on your
device and you can respond to people and it'll text through your phone and then
when they respond back you'll get the message back on your phone and on the
computer now the texting feature is just SMS it's not MMS so you can't get your
pictures on there but for just the text messaging it works great this is all the
inbound and outbound calls you can select on one of these and start a text
message but you can't call from the computer and this is your address book
same thing you can go into a contact and assuming there's a phone number you can
go and start a conversation with them so there we have a notification that just
popped up for a text message so we can reply or delete it right from here we
can click on it and go to the message so coming back into this area this has a
bunch of features that are pretty useful so in here we can do remote camera you
can use the keyboard as a remote keyboard for the phone you can record
your phone screen and you can control the phone alright so going into the
remote camera we just click on that and the phone needs to be unlocked for this
to work so there we go that's the rear camera on the phone and as I move it
around it's not real fast refresh this remote camera actually works really
really well it works anywhere in the house because it's on Wi-Fi and I'm not
exactly sure what the use for this would be but it is there if you need it and it
works well so the next thing is I want to show you where air me and air mirror
now air be an air mirror both require route on the phone or if you don't have
your phone routed they need to run an on roof process now that involves turning
on USB debugging and the first time you click on this it'll show you exactly how
to do that so going into air me this lets you use
the keyboard on your computer for input on the phone so you can see we're on the
text box on the phone and then if I start typing on the computer here you
can see that the test the text shows up on the phone so the next thing is view
only mode if we go into here we can see exactly what's going on on the phone and
then as I swipe around the phone with pages we can see that it's
reflected on the computer screen now the last thing on here is air mirror air
mirror lets you remote control your phone so we can use the mouse to kind of
swipe back and forth between the pages go to the home button swipe up you know
to get our apps and we can go into a web browser and then use the keyboard and it
just gives you complete remote control over your device now we're not any of
these modes whether it be air mirror view only or the remote camera you can
go in and start a recording so you can take just a static screenshot or you can
go in and start recording your session now obviously this doesn't have all the
features that continuity has but it actually has some features that aren't
included in continuity and it works really well it works again on iOS
Android Mac OS and Windows and I haven't had a problem with it I can definitely
recommend the software there's a free account so hopefully you found this
