Turning your device into a hotspot lets you connect devices
that aren't connected to a mobile network,
to the internet using your mobile data.
If you have not connected it to the internet for a while,
you may want to disable 'Automatic updates' on the device
you are intending to share your mobile data with first.
To turn your phone into a hotspot, open your devices 'Settings' menu,
select 'Network & Internet', then 'Hotspot & tethering'.
These steps may vary slightly, depending on your device.
Choose the Wi-Fi hotspot option to turn your hotspot on,
then tap on the 'Wi-Fi hotspot' set up option to configure the settings.
Here you'll see your Network Name and Password.
You may need to tick the 'Show password' box to see the password.
Remember to keep your password safe
and only share it with people you trust.
To connect to the hotspot,
on the device you'd like to access the internet with,
open the list of available Wi-Fi networks
and find the name of your Wi-Fi hotspot.
Click 'Connect'. Enter the hotspot password.
Then click 'OK'.
Once you're finished with the hotspot
don't forget to turn it off again.
