tips and tricks video. I'm going to be showing you guys how to apply eyeshadow
and for this I will be using the brand new kkw Beauty X Mario eyeshadow
palette. I purchased this palette a few days ago and I just decided to use this
to show you guys just a few tips on how I apply eyeshadows. If you don't have
this palette, you could definitely check out the morphe X Jaclyn hill eyes shadow
palette. I just feel like these two looks so similar in the sense that this one is
more of like a travel sized version of this one. The shades aren't the exact
same thing obviously, but I feel like if you want to recreate similar looks, you
can definitely use either of these two palettes. I really hope you guys enjoy
this video, and don't forget to subscribe to my channel.. and without further adieu
let's just jump right into the video. You guys are like so close to my face, but
hey that's not what this video is all about. I do have false lashes on, and I also did
a full face of makeup. It's not something too serious but I just want you guys to
focus mostly on my eye shadow for these video. So just ignore the hair with the
powder and everything..you know what I'm saying?
Okay, so the very first thing you want to do before you apply on eyeshadow is to
make sure you prime your lids. I personally like to use a concealer to
prime my lids, I find that it's a lot cheaper and I don't have to spend extra
cash on an eyeshadow primer, so personally I like to go in with the NARS
radiant creamy concealer. I find that this is just amazing for priming the
lids. I usually don't use this for an everyday concealer because I find that
it's a little bit drying on m, but for priming my lids,
it's just amazing and this is what I always tend to reach for. I usually just
go in with two dabs of the NARS radiant creamy concealer and then I will go in
with my L'Oreal True Match face powder which is my most loved powder. And I'll
just use that to set that concealer in place. So before you go in your eyeshadow
you definitely always want to make sure that you start out with a transition
shade, and for a transition shade I always recommend that you use one
that is two shades darker than your skin tone or your skin tone. Never ever use a
transition shade that is three shades darker or more and don't try to use
something that is too light as well because obviously that's not necessarily
transitioning into anything. So always make sure you stick to a transition
shade that is mostly your skin tone or two shades darker. So for a transition
shade I personally like to use the color pop super shock shadow in the shade
elixir. I find that this is just the best transition shade that I could go in with
because it's not too light for my skin tone and it's also not too dark as well.
It's just the perfect undertone and the perfect shade that would definitely work
well with whatever eyeshadow I decide to go in with. Since today we're going to be
using the kkw Beauty X Mario eyeshadow palette I would obviously not be using
the colour-pop shadow. I just feel like I want to show you guys a tip that I like
to use whenever I get a palette that doesn't necessarily come with that
transition shade that I always like to go for. So for this palette as you can
see, it's not necessarily a palette that has any transition shade that I would
want to use. so what I personally like to do is that I will go in with a shade
that is more of a skin tone type of color, but obviously not too dark as well.
and so this palette comes in I believe four matte shades so I will definitely
not want to go in with this Brown right here because it would be too deep for my
skin tone. And I also would not want to go in with this shade right here because it's
also too deep and it would not work well as a transition shade. So I personally
will just go in for the one that is close to the color of my skin tone and
I'll just use that as a transition shade. To start out with to applying that
transition shade you always want to make sure that you're using the right tools
to apply your eyeshadows. I personally like to start out with a tapered
blending brush and this one is the morphe M 505 brush it is just a big
fluffy brush that I just feel would pack on that transition shade onto my crease
in the way that I will want it to apply. Also, the way you hold the brush is very
very important. You want to make sure that you're holding the brush towards
the end and not so so close to the bristles, because if you do it this way
you would realize that you pack on way more product than you're supposed to and
the blending process can be a lot more difficult... so make sure you take it back
a little bit and just hold it towards the end and apply on that eyeshadow. So
I'm gonna start off with the shade Miami and I'm just going to apply that
above my crease, just to transition that shade onto my lid. And before you start
applying on this transition shade, you always want to make sure you tap off the
excess before you apply that onto your lid. and by the way guys, the way you apply
your eyeshadow is all a matter of personal preference. You could go in
using windshield wiper motions or you could just swirl the brush around....
whichever suits your fancy obviously... just use whatever works best for you. And
guys I forgot to mention one thing that's very very important for everyday
eyeshadow, and that is lid space. And to figure this out all you want to do is
just look down at a mirror and just see how much space you're going to be
working with. So for me, it's going to be right before my lash line and all the
way to the top of my brow bone. This is how much space I'm going to be working
with when applying on this eyeshadow, so you do want to make sure that you're not
too low and you're also not too high as well. And guys, one thing you definitely
want to be careful of is not to blend that eyeshadow way past the tip of your
brow. I always always suggest that you use your brush and just put this right
between the tip of your brow and your nose, just to see the space
you're working with, and just to make sure that you're not going past that
line. Some people like to use a tape and just like put the tape right before the
brow and the lash line. Well I personally just kind of like figure out exactly
what I'm working with so that I stick within that space and not go way
past it. And if you have a bit of a hooded eye just like I do,.. because if I
look up you can definitely tell that I have just a little bit of a hooded eye,
you definitely want to make sure that you're blending way above your crease.
Because if you look at my eyes right now, you can see this line right here that is
not where my crease is, because my crease is actually right here right underneath
my crease bone. That's exactly where my crease is, so I'm always trying to make
sure that I blend way above that, just so when I look up
you can still see the eyeshadow that I just currently applied. And so if you
have a hooded eye this is definitely definitely necessary and I always
recommend doing that. So after applying on that transition shade the very next
thing you want to do is to go in with a shade that is slightly darker than the
transition shade you started out with, just to deepen up that crease a little
bit. I always suggest that you try to pick a shade that is not too deep in the
palette that you're working with. Just think of it as color gradients. You want
to make sure you're starting from lighter to medium and then to darker.
Don't just go from light and straight into a really deep shade into your
crease because that's just gonna make your eyeshadow look super super flawed,
and that's not what you want. But to just warm up that crease a little bit more
and just to deepen it up a little bit more, I'm going to go in with this shade
in the palette and this is called Armenia. I believe I'm not sure.. no this
is called Albania, and I'm just going to use this shade right here to deepen up
that crease just a little bit more. And obviously to apply on that shade I'm
going to use the morphe M330. And I like this brush a lot because it has
that pointy end to it which just makes it easier for me to blend in that shade
onto my crease. And when applying this shade just make sure that you stick to
the crease. Don't take the shadow above the crease because you obviously don't
want to ruin that transition shade that you started out with. And just a very
helpful tip, whenever you apply on a new shade onto your crease just make sure
you go back again with your transition shade on that same brush that you used
and just blend everything out nicely. This just helps to make sure that
there's no harsh line or harsh colors that are appearing on your crease. So
after blending that out, you can obviously go back into the same palette
again and look for a much deeper shade. I personally would like to go in with this
shade right here called loyalty, just to deepen up that crease a little bit more
and this time around I'm not going to apply it all over my crease I'm just
gonna focus this mostly on the outer ends of my crease. I find that applying
deeper shades towards the outer ends and mostly closer to the lid looks a bit
more natural than when you blend it all over your crease. And to apply on that
shade, I will go in with a morphe M 506 brush. It's a tapered mini blender brush
and the bristles are so small, so it would really
help pack on that deeper shade onto my crease. And so I'm just focusing this on
the outer V of my lid, and I'm trying not to blend this wayy above my crease
because if you do that, then the shade is just going to look extremely flawed and
that's exactly what you do not want for your eyeshado. I'm gonna go back again
with the same brush that I used as my transition shade and just blend that all
over again. Just to make sure everything looks more natural and gradient.. And so
as you can see after blending that deeper shade I still have a little bit
of lid space right here that I haven't played around with and on a normal day I
would like to go in with a shimmery shade just to fill up that space but for
this video I just want to stick to the matte shades and not the shimmery shades, so
I'm just gonna go in with this one right here called "decade" and I'm just going to
put this all over that remaining excess space. And to do that I will use the
morphe m124 brush, and this is just a firm shadow eyeshadow brush that you can
just use to pack on that matte shade onto your lid. And I don't want to go in
with a concealer for this video because I feel like that can be a little bit
complicated for a lot of people, so I'm just going to go ahead and use the flat
brush and just apply on that shade.
and then I'll go back again with the same shade on the outer "V" so that I
can give it some sort of gradient and to give the look a little bit more
definition. I'm gonna go back again on my crease with the shade "Albania" so
I'm just gonna go back with the shade Armenia and just apply that on the lower
side. And I'm gonna use this small brush by BH Cosmetics. It is a very nice
pointy brush and I find that this helps really blend in that you know-- shadow
onto the lower lash line. Alright guys and this is what the finished eye shadow
looks like. I really hope you guys enjoyed this video. I'm gonna try my best
to do more tutorials like this because I feel like it can be really helpful,
especially to somebody who is a beginner in makeup and just wants to try out new
techniques and new ways of doing things. So if you liked this video give it a
