and today, I'm bringing you a Vanessa Hudgens inspired
purple eyeshadow look.
It's perfect for spring and really easy to do
so keep on watching if you wanna get the look.
(upbeat music)
So we're gonna start on our eyes
and this is a basically one color look.
It's just a purple eyeshadow sweeped all over the lid
just like Vanessa had.
So with a fluffy brush just like this, I'm gonna pick up
a purple sparkly shimmery shadow and I'm literally
just gonna throw that all over the crease, all over
the eyelid and that's basically the shape
that we're gonna go for.
So I'm just padding this onto my eye
so we get that light wash of color.
And then I bring it into the crease with windshield
wiper motions.
I'm also gonna just try and wing it out at the end
just so it doesn't look like you got punched in the face.
You want to look like you did this on purpose.
Now Vanessa's eyes were really, really sparkly
and the shadow we just used,
it has some sparkle, but I think we're gonna dial it up
a bit so I'm gonna take a light pink shimmery shadow
and I'm gonna use my finger
and I'm just gonna tap that onto the eyelid.
I'm gonna go back in with my brush
just to make sure everything's blended so nothing
looks too harsh.
Now the key to deepening this eye look is not
gonna be a winged liner.
It's gonna be smoking that top lash line
and to do that, we're gonna use eyeshadow
and a coal eyeliner pencil.
So I'm gonna stark with a dark eyeshadow
and we're just gonna run that
right at the base of the lashes
to give us some depth without looking too intense
because we still want this look
to be light and airy for spring.
So I am taking an angled brush just like this
and that's what we're gonna use to pop on
a dark brown-ish black eyeshadow.
I'm just pushing this into the lashes
so we get that darkness at the lash line
and I'm kind of flicking the color upwards
so it blends into the purple.
So you can make this as dark or as light as you want.
I kind of like that smoky look
so I put a little bit more on,
but if you don't like that, you don't even have to
put it on, but we're gonna for the Vanessa vibe, so.
The next thing is to take a pencil eyeliner
and very, very lightly, we're gonna run that
on just the outer corner of the eye
to really deepen it there.
If you put it across the whole thing,
you're gonna lose that purple when your eyes are open
and now I'm gonna take a pencil brush just like this
and I'm just gonna smudge that in at the lash line
so it's not a stark crazy dark line right there.
To finish off our eyes before we put on our mascara,
Vanessa's eyes were crazy highlighted.
She had a really pretty pinkish shimmery color
right under the brow bone and inner corner
and so it's exactly what we're gonna pop on
and to do that, I am gonna use a flat shader brush
just like this and a really shimmery, shimmery pink color.
We're gonna put it right underneath the brow bone
to really lift the look and I'm popping that same color
in the inner corner to brighten the eyes
and make them look a little more awake and big.
I'm then gonna go in with a fluffy brush with no product
on it just to make sure that the highlight color
and the purple eyeshadow are blended together
and we don't have any harsh lines.
The next step for me is mascara and with this look,
I didn't want to use false eyelashes
so we're gonna use a mascara primer,
which is just a white mascara basically
that you put on before the primer and it makes
everything really big and think and voluminous
which is the look we're going for.
So to start the mascara process,
we're gonna curl our eyelashes and now we are taking
the primer and you're gonna put that
on just like you would a regular mascara.
Primer for your eyelashes help your mascara stay on longer
but also makes it really thick and voluminous
so it kind of looks like you have false eyelashes on,
but you don't.
And now I'm just gonna take my
regular black mascara and put it right on top.
I like to wiggle the wand at the base of my lashes
so they really separate and they don't get too spidery
and clump together.
So now that the top of the eye is done,
we're gonna move on to the lower lash line
and Vanessa had just a very thin layer of purple shadow
down there so we're gonna follow suit with that
and we're also gonna put on a nude eyeliner
in the water line to really open up the eye
and make it look big and bright
because the springtime is supposed to be
big and bright as well.
and when I'm applying this, I'm holding the brush
horizontally as it's supposed to be held
to apply the color, but then I'm flipping it vertically
so it blends underneath and it doesn't look too harsh.
So now I'm gonna pop on a nude eyeliner in the water line
and to finish off the eyes, we're gonna put
a light coat of mascara on our bottom lashes.
So the eyes are done.
We're gonna move on to our face.
We have bronzer, blush, highlighter, the works
and we're gonna start with bronzer
to give us that nice glow for the springtime.
I just take a big fluffy brush like this
and swirl the bronzer starting at the back
of the cheek going towards the front of the face
because you want the product to be concentrated
in the back just in case you put too much on at once.
You don't want that to be all over the middle of your face.
It can get away with it when it's towards the back.
Our next step is to contour.
I'm taking a light ashy brown color
and we're gonna put it from the top of the ear
down towards the corner of the mouth,
on the nose, on the forehead, under the jaw,
give us the chiseled look that
everybody is striving to have these days.
I like to put it down the sides of my nose
because when you're wearing a foundation,
your nose can kind of get lost in your face
if you don't do something to bring the shadow
and highlight back into it
so I just run it along the bridge of my nose
for a little more dimension.
Our next step is gonna be blush
and I'm taking a big chunky angled brush
just like this and a very light pink brush
and we're just gonna pop that on the cheeks.
I like to apply a lot of blush because I feel like
on my skin, it's the first thing that fades
throughout the day and it want it to stay there.
I want that color back in my face.
So the next thing to do is a blinding highlight
just like Vanessa had.
It's the same color that we used
on our eyebrow and in the inner corner.
We're gonna put that right on top of the cheekbone.
I start toward the back of the cheek
and I also connect it to that browbone highlight,
kind of in a c-shape and then I pop it right on top
of the arch of the brow, a little bit on the bridge
of the nose and the cupid's bow.
So now we're glowing.
We have to do our lips and Vanessa wore a really
peachy nude, almost looked like she didn't have any lipstick
on except for a gloss, but we're gonna use one
because I can't imagine myself without lipstick
so to start off, we're gonna use a lip primer
which is kind of like a clear matte lip gloss
that makes your lipstick stay on all day for eating,
drinking, talking, whatever you're doing.
I'm now gonna take a peachy nude lip liner,
kind of like a my lips but better color
and just gonna outline my lips.
Now that we have our guide on,
we're gonna pop on a peachy nude lipstick
and this is a color that I think works
on a ton of different skin tones,
but find a nude lipstick that works for you.
So now that our lips are done,
we have one final step and that is to set our face
and I always use the setting spray
to really lock down the makeup,
get rid of the powdery look that you might have
with all the products that we have on our face
and keep our makeup on all day or on night long.
I like to press it in with a sponge so everything
is in place and locked for the whole day.
Once you have your face all sprayed and set
and ready to go, this is the final Vanessa Hudgens
purple eyeshadow springtime inspired look.
I hope you guys learned something
and I hope you try it out.
Happy spring and I'll see you guys next time.
