putting in CVs, and just keep getting back
no, no, no, no experience, no qualifications.
I really wanted to go on to be a conservation
manager or warden or ranger, managing habitats
and looking after what we have.
My family is here,
and my friends have always been here,
and I have always wanted to stay in Northern Ireland,
but sometimes you have to go
where the job will take you.
I kind of felt at a real dead end,
like, how am I ever going to overcome this?
We are going down to look for some butterflies
down by the Temple Water.
Without the HLF training I can say for a fact
that I never would have got this job.
I definitely wouldn't be who I am today without it.
Just doing our surveys
once a week for the butterflies
and once a month for the bumble bees
we are keeping a good track on
like how well the meadow is doing.
Don't sting me!
This is a queen bumble bee,
generally about this time of year. I like to catch them
so I can id them properly.
This is my dream job, I've always wanted to do this.
I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now.
I'd like to say big thank you to all
the lottery players out there, because
without the funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund
I would not be where I am today.
