some of the settings you can change on an Android device
to help set your device up to suit your preferences.
To change settings on your Android device,
open the settings menu by locating the cog,
either on the notification panel or by swiping up to view your apps.
These steps may vary slightly depending on your device.
In the settings menu you'll find all the settings that you can change.
By selecting the 'Network & Internet' heading,
you'll be able to turn Wi-Fi on and off,
check your data usage,
and turn your mobile device into a Wi-Fi hotspot,
so you can use your mobile data on other Wi-Fi enabled devices.
If you tap 'Apps & notifications', you'll be able to,
among other things,
turn notifications on and off and change how you receive them.
Whether it's a blinking light, a message at the top of the screen,
or an alert when your device is locked.
The battery section lets you monitor how much battery life
each of your applications is using.
And in the 'Display' section,
you can adjust the brightness of your screen
as well as how long your screen stays on for
and whether it automatically locks when it turns off.
You can also change the background image and font size,
set a screensaver,
and turn on your nightlight to tint your screen in the evenings.
In the 'Sound' section you can change the volume of media,
alarms and ringtones and turn on vibrations and 'Do Not Disturb'.
By selecting 'Security & Location' you can see your security status,
change the method you use to unlock your phone
and turn location services off and on.
In the 'Users & accounts' section you can add and remove email,
social media and other application accounts
that you're logged into on the device.
And by clicking on 'Accessibility' you can change settings
to make your device easier to use,
with options for low vision, hearing or dexterity.
