Razor Edge Friday Special: How To Start Straight Razor Shaving number one we're
gonna start with you need a brush and soap alright you don't need a straight
razor you don't need any of that right now
okay what we need this brush and soap let's talk brushes to start with this is
the Van Der Hagen premium boar brush it comes in a Van Der Hagen premium shave
set this will be your least expensive option for a brush now that is boar hair
even though it's dyed up to look like badger but it does perform well so it's
kind of small but it works next you can upgrade to the Omega 10098
and this is a pro brush this is much better
okay that is premium boar hair and plastic handle but it performs okay and
this is like $12-$13 bucks USD and it really does work quite nicely and you can't
beat it next up go a little bit more expensive
with my Semogue Owners Club and now this is again boar hair beautiful with
cherrywood handle and it is fine you know if you are going to get a natural
hair brush you don't have to but I don't have any synthetic brushes okay if you
do get a natural hair brush go ahead and click right on this card that will show
you how to break in this very brush okay that's going to be important coming down
in the future all right next up less talk soap so the first one is the Van Der
Hagen soap and it does come with a bowl so you just take this soap press it down
into the bottom of that bowl and you can bloom it alright and again this comes in
the Van Der Hagen Premium Shave Set so you're going to get the brush the soap
and the bowl alright and this like I say is I think I got found it the last time
for like $8 bucks USD but you won't spend more than $20 bucks USD on Amazon
alright and you might be able to find it on sale now next up I would recommend
Derby you know this is just a clean fresh scent and this is a tallow based
soap this will work well for you you just cut a sliver of this off and press
it into a bowl bloom it and you're good to go again and it's inexpensive next
up you can use Arko and again the same thing this is a tallow based soap just cut a
sliver off of the top of that press it in a bowl and bloom it and lather up and it
works fine all of those soaps work really well you

and you'll see how I bloom those up and it works really well so now again let's
look at these brushes you've got the smaller Van Der Hagen brush you have
being larger Omega 10098 and then next to that you have the Semogue
Owners Club and you can see it has got a bigger splay but you know it's all
