talking about education and how we can use platforms to create useful tools for
our students so today we're going to be using WordPress to create a website
that's going to offer education for our students and using WordPress we can use
the website to create themes and topics for our students so for instance African
history and one make sure we kept the free one and we're going to start with
free so now that we look may 22 basic steps of creating the website as such as
putting in our name our topics our information we now have a website but
the problem now is that we need to now customize the website we can do that by
going to themes let me go to themes we wanna make sure we select one that's
simple and that's easy for students understand and operate so we want
something as the independent publisher I'm going to activate the design and
customize site now this is the key note of creating a website the custom
customization so as we see a little bit as it pops up give it a little more time
to load okay so mr. Baran is all it says now right here we want to make sure we
have a tagline that goes underneath it so we want to corn the term knowledge is
power this way we have something that's that's like a tagline something that's
gonna do inspire the reader to know give them a thing to follow site icon then
select the image so we can find any image really so we go to media library
and let's select this as our site icon
cough image
scruffing and now we have icon right here that's just basically gonna show in
the corner of our website just to make it a little more professional because
we're all about professionalism next we want to go out of the site identity and
we wanted to look at font homepage settings and things like that and all
this this is basically how you make your website your own throughout these
options but for now we're gonna save it by hitting publish and exiting artivist
now the main point of having the website it's actually using it as a teaching
tool and only way you can do that is by going to blog post and actually writing
something for our students now you can do this by clicking on write and go to
mr. bar John and we're gonna start by typing something so we're gonna use
something that's relatable so we're going to type in module 1 African
origins you want to make sure that the title is straight to the point
it gives easily description as to what they're actually going to do so since I
don't know spell I still eat the African part the origin part so module 1 African
history something simple to the point and this one and the writing is up to
you the writings were you instill information you want them to know so if
I can change the fonts I can make a paragraph style heading one two three
four so forth and so on so if we want a heading one the heading should be module
it should be the same as the title so module one African history
and ice as you go on you want to type in things along here and then you want to
make sure your information is standard we wanted to be all in the same format
this way the student has a clear layout after you're done typing after you're
done doing this doing all of this you now want to come over here to post
settings and this is where the magic really happens
so in post setting this is where you can add tags and similar to Instagram or
Twitter where you tag something that you want to be recognized so I want to tag
education I want to tag African and I want to tag history so now that I had
those three tags at least I know now that if I go to Google right now and I
search that that my websites gonna pop up now sharing is also very important so
so sharing buttons is something that you'll see your on here and that means
sharing to Facebook Instagram Twitter and showing the like buttons just like
Instagram - where you click on the like button and you know who likes it and
this is crucial for your students because if you know that your students
are liking your post ister posting you know that they're having a great
understanding and if you have a student that hasn't liked any of your posts you
now know okay what can I do to help my student understand and that's when this
leads me to my next point the next point is site pages you can use site pages to
direct students to where you need to go so for example we're going to switch
site and we're going to take a trip to do a web site that has already been
developed by myself
so we're gonna type in my information here
oopsy-daisy so i'm gonna type in information we're gonna get into this
website so find my website it is that I have something called site pages inside
pages there is my menus and you can see that on my menus claim stats on my menus
I have a very laid out so I mean you have things I have I have more website
support me notice is it okay things like that and these are here to direct your
viewers or your students to things that you want them to see immediately so for
example your site pages are your menus appear so if I say um all about my
poetry this is gonna bring a student or a viewer straight to the web page that's
going to describe how I feel about my poetry so all my my poetry is gonna lead
to basically in about Me section of my website and if I go to are you lost
he's gonna say click buckos and it'll take you back to where you need to go so
making a website for education isn't as hard as it sounds all you need is to
have an appealing website front content and simple directions or site pages in
menus that can direct viewers to where they need to go that will conclude my
video and I like to thank you for watching my video
