A project to develop the culture of coexistence
Abdel Mouin Al-Kilfa, 16 years old, Syria
I heard from my secondary school that there was a project on coexistence between Lebanese and Syrians
Haya Al-Chmaytelli, 16 years old, Lebanon
We were told that there was a UNESCO activity about coexistence
But we had to present it in an artistic way
35 Syrian students + 35 Lebanese students
4 months
I felt the need to join the project
The agenda included 4 workshops
It was about drawing, singing, dancing and acting
We had to choose one of these workshops
It only took us two days to get used to each other
On the last day, we visited the UNESCO palace
and were surprised to see how big it was
We wondered how we will be standing on that big stage
and acting in front of a huge audience
It was a positive thing
when we prompted some people to change their viewpoint
(#Dialogue_Through_Art)
about Lebanese and when the Lebanese changed their opinion about some of the Syrians
The relationship grew ever stronger; respect for each other also grew
The drawings used in the video are the outcome of the workshop
